اظهر المزيد [+] اقل [-]إنجليزي. Past change in agricultural systems over the past mid-century brought out important change in agricultural land use in Mediterranean mountain areas. Agricultural abandonment resulted into landscape encroachment and reforestation processes of negative impact on natural resources and landscapes. Sustainable development of livestock husbandry in this context calls for considering the way livestock farming systems can contribute to sustainable use of natural resources and landscape quality maintenance. In this poster we present a participatory research approach aimed at providing local farmers and land policy-makers with decisionsupport tools allowing exploring the perspectives for sustainable land use at the village level. The approach relies on (i) the assessment of the spatial patterns of farmland organization and the spatio-temporal dynamics of land use at livestock farms, and (ii) the participatory design and assessment of alternative scenarios for change using GIS modeling and 3D visualization technology.
