إنجليزي. Agro-ecosystems are associated with many environmental processes (water and biodiversity protection, erosion etc.). Because of the impact of the land-use spatial organization and its dynamics on the environment at the landscape scale, it is necessary to better understand this land-use spatial organization in order to manage those environmental processes and to preserve sustainable agricultural spaces. This land-use dynamic at the landscape scale mostly results from farmers’ decisions about their cropping plan. This study focuses on the case of a protected area for natural resources, the Niort plain (Deux-Sèvres, France), and is based on farmer interviews made in two villages (Juscorps and Saint-Romans-des-Champs). The aim of the study is to enhance previous researches about crop allocation modeling. This work focused on the links between the territory and the crop allocation choices at the farm level and also on the evolution of those choices in a context of recent changes (in the last decade). The interviews were made on both arable farms and mixed crop-livestock farms. We identified some decision rules that were common to every type of farming system and some others that were specific to each one. We also identified and added to the model a new decisional variable about crop location when farmers group crops on close plots or on plots that are far from the farmstead. Decision rules changing over time in a changing context have also been identified. Finally, the study shows that some decision rules have a territorial specificity.
