Feed production strategy and profitability of livestock farming.
2024
An extremely extensive system of using natural forage lands worsens the economic condition of the grass stand and promotes the proliferation of ballast plants in the cenosis; the nutritional value of pasture feed and harvested hay is low, which contributes to the expansion of areas, the spread of pests and diseases, and the development of foci of erosion processes. As a result, the profitability of livestock farming is low. As soon as possible, the latest technologies for using forage land must be introduced and a reasonable approach to the use of natural resources must be decided, which will radically change the range of feed used in the winter. The main attention should be paid to creating a feed fund by increasing the area of hayfields, improving quality indicators and introducing small-scale mechanization that works in mountain conditions in the production of feed. It has been experimentally established that the average hay yield of natural grassland gradually increases from the second ten days of May to the first ten days of August by 25.9 c/ha, the daily increase is 0.29 c/ha, and when applying mineral fertilizers during this period, you can get a yield of 42.1 c/ha more, and the daily yield increase will increase by 0.47 c/ha. The total volume of hay increases by 46% (130 c/ha). The specified data should be implemented in the management of natural grass stands. Tab. 1, Ref. 10.
