Reyes,Pamela E. | Pinzón,Juan Pablo | Valenzuela,Ricardo | Raymundo,Tania | Tun Garrido,Juan
The family Hypoxylaceae has 75 species recorded from Mexico, of which 48 are known from the Yucatan Peninsula, a biotic province that has great fungal diversity due to its unique biogeographic history. Herbarium specimens were revised, and seven expeditions were carried out in the most representative types of vegetation: tropical deciduous forest, evergreen forest, and coastal dunes, including the Cuxtal Ecological Reserve, Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve, and Calakmul Biosphere Reserve. The specimens were identified morphologically and a taxonomic key to genus and species is provided. Hypomontagnella monticulosa (Mont.) Sir, L. Wendt & C. Lamb. and Daldinia eschscholtzii (Ehrenb.) Rehm have wide distribution in this biotic province.
