Formation and composition of a trait collection of potatoes by starch content and technological properties

The issues of maintenance and study of potato collection at the Institute for Potato Research of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and at the Ustymivska experimental station of plant production of Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine are considered. The results of work concerning the creation of potato trait collection on starch content and technological properties are given. Sources of economically valuable traits have been identified based on the results of long-term studies. Samples that were selected according to a certain level of phenotypic manifestation of individual traits or their complex were included in the trait collection, which includes 61 samples from 5 countries. Selected samples with different levels of manifestation of traits will contribute to effective breeding work.
