The Calamba Fisherfolks Producers Cooperative (CFPC) is composed of smallholder fisherfolks and has been registered in the City of Calamba, Laguna [Philippines] since 2017. Its members are mostly engaged in capture fisheries of tilapia from the nearby Laguna Lake. A sustainability assessment of the cooperative's fishing practices, and business management was conducted using the Sustainability Assessment for Food and Agriculture Systems (SAFA) Framework by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The primary data were collected through interviews and survey questions while secondary data were gathered from documents and external articles. CFPC is vulnerable to typhoons and to fish kill due to the degrading quality of water in the Laguna Lake. The issues also included the unstable volume of production, which resulted to net losses, especially during the lean season. Consequently, the study found a low to moderate sustainability score in terms of environmental integrity and economic resiliency. On the other hand, the study found a moderate rating on good governance and social responsibility due to active government support, aid provided by the cooperative to its members, and gender equality. Recommendations include the establishment of impact and performance assessment within the CFPC, utilization of effective microorganism (EM) in Laguna de Bay and construction of inland hatchery for quality fry/fingerlings.
