Ecological, landscaping and hydraulic restoration of Brévenne in the cities of l'Arbresle and Eveux | Restauration écologique, paysagère et hydraulique de la Brévenne sur les communes de l'Arbresle et d'Eveux

At the dawn of the attribution of the Gemapi (French acronym for "management of aquatic environments and flood prevention") competence to local authorities, it is a necessity to take into account the natural functioning of watercourses in any project of urban development and flood control. Faced with a recurrence of major floods, the Brévenne-Turdine syndicate (Syribt) had launched over the last decade a study to define a program of actions intended to restore the hydro-morphological functioning of the main watercourses of the watershed and to define priority intervention sites, including the "Bigout" site of 9ha in the peri-urban area of the Arbresle commune on the Brévenne River. A project management team, consisting of specialized offices in the morpho-ecological restoration of streams and bioengineering, river hydraulics, landscape enhancement of semi-natural spaces and reception of the public, was thus chosen and proposed the creation of a true "natural park in an alluvial environment". The studies took place over a full year in 2016. The works are scheduled for the end of 2017.

A l'aube de l'attribution de la compétence Gemapi aux collectivités, la prise en compte du fonctionnement naturel des cours d'eau dans tout projet d'aménagement urbain et de lutte contre les inondations est une nécessité. Face à une récurrence d'inondations majeures, le Syndicat Brévenne-Turdine (Syribt) avait lancé au cours de la dernière décennie, une étude visant à définir un programme d'actions destiné à restaurer le fonctionnement hydro-morphologique des principaux cours d'eau du bassin versant et de définir des sites prioritaires d'intervention, dont le site dit « du Bigout » de 9ha en zone périurbaine de la commune de l'Arbresle sur la rivière Brévenne (département du Rhône). Une équipe de maîtrise d'œuvre, constituée de bureaux spécialistes dans les domaines de restauration morpho-écologique de cours d'eau et génie végétal, de l'hydraulique fluviale, puis, de la valorisation paysagère et d'accueil du public, a ainsi été choisie pour proposer la création d'un véritable parc naturel en milieu alluvial. Les études se sont déroulées sur une année complète en 2016. Les travaux sont programmés à partir de fin 2017.
