Bovine brucellosis in dual purpose cattle in the province of Mariscal Caceres | Brucelosis bovina en ganado doble propósito en la provincia de Mariscal Cáceres

إنجليزي. The objective of this work was to determine the prevalence of bovine brucellosis in the province of Mariscal Cáceres, for which 393 cattle of different ages and breeds from the districts of Campanilla, Huicungo, Juanjuí, Pachiza and Pajarillo were evaluated. The results of the analysis of the serum of these animals with the Rose Bengal test were negative for bovine brucellosis. Likewise, through the analysis of this work, it was determined that the "crossbred" breed is the one that is found in the greatest quantity in the province and, in the same way, it was determined that natural mounting is the method used by farmers to reproduce their animals. The Pachiza district resulted in the highest percentage (3.3%) using the artificial insemination technique.

El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo determinar la prevalencia de la brucelosis bovina en la provincia de Mariscal Cáceres, para lo cual se evaluaron 393 vacunos de diferentes edades y razas, provenientes de los distritos de Campanilla, Huicungo, Juanjuí, Pachiza y Pajarillo. Los resultados de los análisis del suero de estos animales con la prueba de Rosa de Bengala dieron negativo a la brucelosis bovina. Igualmente, mediante el análisis de este trabajo se determinó que la raza “cruzada” es la que se encuentra en mayor cantidad en la provincia y de igual modo se determinó que la monta natural el método usado por los ganaderos para la reproducción de sus animales. El distrito de Pachiza resultó con mayor porcentaje (3,3%) en utilizar la técnica de inseminación artificial.
