Formation and development of in vitro shoots of Anthurium magnificum Linden from adventitious buds | Formación y desarrollo de brotes in vitro de Anthurium magnificum Linden a partir de yemas adventicias

إنجليزي. Within the Araceae family, Anthurium magnificum Linden is an ornamental planthighly appreciated for its exotic foliage. It is mainly used as a potted plant,although in recent years its use as cut foliage has increased. In this species,conventional propagation methods have certain limitations, which do not allowthe growing demand for this plant to be met. In the scientific literature there isno protocol for propagating this species through in vitro culture. This work aimedto determine the effect of two culture media on the formation and developmentof in vitro shoots of Anthurium magnificum from adventitious buds. The MSculture medium and the MS culture medium enriched with 1.0 mg l-1 of gibberellicacid were used. The results showed that the highest number of shoots wasobtained in the MS culture medium without the presence of gibberellic acid. Alsoin this culture medium the greatest length of the shoots and the highest averagenumber of leaves per shoot were achieved. This study is the first scientific report on the in vitro shoots formation and development from adventitious buds in thisspecies.

الأسبانية؛ قشتالية. Dentro de la familia Araceae, Anthurium magnificum Linden es una planta ornamental muy apreciada por su exótico follaje. Se emplea principalmente como planta de maceta, aunque en los últimos años se ha incrementado su uso como follaje de corte. En esta especie, los métodos de propagación convencionales presentan ciertas limitantes por lo que no permiten satisfacer la creciente demanda de esta planta. En la literatura científica no existe un protocolo de propagación de esta especie mediante su cultivo in vitro. Este trabajo tuvo como  determinar el efecto de dos medios de cultivo en la formación y desarrollo de brotes in vitro de Anthurium magnificum a partir de yemas adventicias. Se empleó el medio de cultivo MS y el medio de cultivo MS enriquecido con 1.0 mg l-1 de ácido giberélico. Los resultados mostraron que en el medio de cultivo MS sin la presencia de ácido giberélico fue donde mayor número de brotes se obtuvo. También en este medio de cultivo se logró la mayor longitud de los brotes y el mayor número promedio de hojas por brote. Este estudio es el primer informe científico sobre la formación y desarrollo de brotes in vitroa partir de yemas adventicias en esta especie.
