Behavior of growth and yield of the potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) variety Spunta | COMPORTAMIENTO DEL CRECIMIENTO Y EL RENDIMIENTO DE LA VARIEDAD DE PAPA (Solanum tuberosum L.) SPUNTA

The work was developed in the National Instituteof Agricultural Sciences with the objective of evaluating thebehaviour of the growth and its relationship with the yield inone commercial variety of potato (Spunta). The plantation wascarried out following a muestreal design during two years,2009 and 2010. They were carried out destructive samplings indifferent moments after the plantation until the crop, to determine the number of shafts average for plant, the number of leaves average for shafts, the leaf area from the lineal measures (Long and Wide) of the leaves, the accumulation of dry mass in the different organs and the yield (expressed as average by plant). In the moment to do the evaluations were took 10 plants at random every time from the experimental area, they were separated in their different organs. In general was demonstrated the influence of the years in the behaviour of the plantation in the values reached in all variables considered, except in the number of shafts average for plant, aspect were the climatic conditions had a beg influence, but too the more efficiency of application of the raining in the second year.

El trabajo se desarrolló en el Instituto Nacional deCiencias Agrícolas (INCA) con el objetivo de evaluar elcomportamiento del crecimiento y su relación con el rendimientoen un cultivar comercial de papa (Spunta). La plantación se realizósiguiendo un diseño muestreal durante los años 2009 y 2010. Serealizaron muestreos destructivos en diferentes momentosdespués de la plantación y hasta la cosecha para determinar elnúmero de tallos promedio por planta, el número de hojaspromedio por tallos, la superficie foliar a partir de las medidaslineales (largo y ancho) de las hojas, la acumulación de masaseca en los diferentes órganos y el rendimiento (expresado como promedio por planta). En el momento de realizar las evaluaciones se tomaron 10 plantas al azar cada vez, que fueron separadas en sus diferentes órganos. Se pudo comprobar la influencia de los años en el comportamiento de la plantación en general en cuanto a los valores alcanzados en la acumulación de masa seca en los diferentes órganos, no así en el patrón de crecimiento que siguen las variables que fueron consideradas en el estudio, aspecto en el que además de las condiciones climáticas de cada año en específico, también influyó la forma mas eficiente de aplicación del riego en el segundo año.
