This experiment was conducted on a FerruginousNodular Gley Hidromorphic soil from �??Los Palacios�?� RiceResearch Station, using 1.0 x 1.0 m pots within 2000 poorlyrainyand 2000 rainy seasons. The commercial INCA LP-5variety was studied in a randomized complete design with fourtreatments and four replicates, which were from flooding for48 hours up to soil saturation, the latter saving 50-51 % of theoverall water consumed over the first application to germinationin these kinds of soil; the highest germination percentage from90 to 100 % was recorded with saturated soil.

El experimento se condujo en la Estación Experimentaldel Arroz �??Los Palacios�?�, sobre un suelo HidromórficoGley Nodular Ferruginoso, en macetas con dimensiones de1.0 x 1.0 m durante las épocas poco lluviosa 2000 y la lluviosa2000. Se sembró la variedad comercial INCA LP-5. Se utilizó undiseño experimental completamente aleatorizado con cuatrotratamientos y cuatro réplicas, que fueron desde aniego durante48 horas hasta suelo saturado, permitiendo la variantesuelo saturado el mayor porcentaje desde un 90 hasta un 100 %de germinación y una elevada economía en el agua de riego,entre 50 y 51 % del volumen que se consume en los primerosriegos de germinación para estos tipos de suelo.
