Uterine involution and the resumption of postpartum cyclicity in beef cattle are essential for establishing satisfactory reproductive indices, both economically and productively. In this sense, the uterine muscle layer plays an important role in parturition and puerperium, expulsing the conceptus and fetal membranes and considerably reducing uterine diameter a few days postpartum (DPP). This study aimed to evaluate the effect of prostaglandins on the proportion of inflammatory cells (PMN) and postpartum pregnancy rates in cows subjected to fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) programs.
