Authors observed an outbreak of porcine pleuropneumonia at a piggery in Kyongbuk, Korea R. which were diagnosed on the ground of clinical and pathological findings. Main clinical findings observed from 60 alive pigs from group consisted of fever, cyanosis severe degree of dyspnea and pleuritic friction rub. Hematological observation for typical 5 cases leukocytes showed marked degenerative left shift with leukopenia (10500-13070/cmm), neutropenia (7-13% and increase in the number of band neutrophils (6-27%)

The present observations were focussed mainly on the macroscopic and histopathological examinations of polyps found on the stomach of 4-month-old pig, small intestine of 3-month-old pig and cecum of 9-month-old dog. The polyps were gray or pink hemispherical shapes attached by the broad base to the gastrointestinal walls and were 3 to 8 mm in diameter and diffuse appearance. The surfaces of polyps were flat or indented and were ulcerated in some large polyps

Basic biological and epidemiological observation on eperythrozoonosis like disease of swine in Korea R. was taken, using 157 naturally affected pigs and blood samples of 250 normal pigs. Although infection rates, morphology and sizes of the organisms in stained blood films varied depending on the season, all of the affected pigs showed positive infection and the normal pigs were found 54% positive over the year. The organisms appeared to have 5 morphological forms with sizes of 0.5-5.0 micron but the sizes had increment to 1.4-8.5 micron with cytoplasmic granules when the blood was stored under 0 deg C for more than 1 week or -20 deg C for 24 hrs.

This paper deals with the histopathological observations of the perirenal edema in pigs and rabbits administered with Amaranthus retroflexus, based on the clinical and pathological observations of the porcine perirenal edema naturally occurring in Korea R. In the natural case, clinical signs are trembling, weakness and incoordination of the hindquarters, followed by sternal recumbency, coma and death. Death usually occurs within 24 hrs after the appearance of illness signs
