Fasciola hepatica, also known as the common liver fluke, is a globally distributed trematode parasite responsible for high economic losses in ruminants. Infection with F. hepatica occurs in Polish cattle and sheep; however, very little is known about its occurrence in goats. Therefore, a serological and coproscopic survey was carried out in Polish goats to determine the herd-level prevalence of F. hepatica infection in the goat population of Poland.

2024
Szymańska-Czerwińska Mońika | Jodełko Agnieszka | Osiński Zbigniew | Zaręba-Marchewka Kinga | Niemczuk Krzysztof
Different Chlamydia species affect cattle and contribute to economic losses. One of them, C. pecorum, is a globally endemic livestock pathogen. Despite its endemicity, prevalence data from Poland have so far been limited. The present study aimed to obtain insight into the chlamydiae prevalence in Polish dairy cattle.

Crayfish plague is considered the most important crayfish disease globally. It is caused by the fungus-like agent, Aphanomyces astaci. This study aimed to identify and determine the prevalence of A. astaci using PCR in narrow-clawed crayfish (Pontastacus leptodactylus) populations from across Türkiye.

In Europe, veterinary vaccines are strictly controlled by the Official Medicines Control Laboratories (OMCLs) of the General European OMCL Network, coordinated by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare. Despite a meticulous verification programme for immunological veterinary medicinal products (IVMPs), the products’ genomic composition has not yet been subject to evaluation in veterinary pharmacy.
