The article performs the requirements to the preparation and Table characteristics content of the holding Test guidelines examination of new varieties to identify the difference, uniformity and stability. It is pointed that the identification of varieties is carried by the morphological characteristics description as presented in the table. Being standard these characteristics comply with ones requirements. An characteristics explanation with an asterisk (*) is given, their importance for the international harmonization of variety descriptions by States UPOV Members is indicated. The article presents an explanation of the grouping characteristics with documented revealing conditions. As it is commonly determined any characteristic begins with the plants or plants parts identification, which after a colon is followed by the body or its part nomination or by observed peculiarity. The requirements to the formulation of characteristics nomination are performed. It should be clear enough for understanding and without conditions determining. The degree of every characteristic nomination manifestation for its defining and making harmonizing descriptions is set. The corresponding numeric code, which facilitates the entry of data, drafting descriptions and their exchanging is given to each revealing degree. The morphological code configuration of variety phenotype is formed by the codes. It is emphasized that the features are divided into qualitative, quantitative and pseudo qualitative. The presentation order of the features in the table corresponds to the botanical or chronological order. It is noted that the Test guidelines should contain all the features suitable for holding examination at BOC and that there should not be any restrictions on their being included into Methods. Every feature can be used from a complete features list.

Abstract Pterulaceae was formally proposed to group six coralloid and dimitic genera: Actiniceps (=Dimorphocystis), Allantula, Deflexula, Parapterulicium, Pterula, and Pterulicium. Recent molecular studies have shown that some of the characters currently used in Pterulaceae do not distinguish the genera. Actiniceps and Parapterulicium have been removed, and a few other resupinate genera were added to the family. However, none of these studies intended to investigate the relationship between Pterulaceae genera. In this study, we generated 278 sequences from both newly collected and fungarium samples. Phylogenetic analyses supported with morphological data allowed a reclassification of Pterulaceae where we propose the introduction of Myrmecopterula gen. nov. and Radulomycetaceae fam. nov., the reintroduction of Phaeopterula, the synonymisation of Deflexula in Pterulicium, and 53 new combinations. Pterula is rendered polyphyletic requiring a reclassification; thus, it is split into Pterula, Myrmecopterula gen. nov., Pterulicium and Phaeopterula. Deflexula is recovered as paraphyletic alongside several Pterula species and Pterulicium, and is sunk into the latter genus. Phaeopterula is reintroduced to accommodate species with darker basidiomes. The neotropical Myrmecopterula gen. nov. forms a distinct clade adjacent to Pterula, and most members of this clade are associated with active or inactive attine ant nests. The resupinate genera Coronicium and Merulicium are recovered in a strongly supported clade close to Pterulicium. The other resupinate genera previously included in Pterulaceae, and which form basidiomes lacking cystidia and with monomitic hyphal structure (Radulomyces, Radulotubus and Aphanobasidium), are reclassified into Radulomycetaceae fam. nov. Allantula is still an enigmatic piece in this puzzle known only from the type specimen that requires molecular investigation. A key for the genera of Pterulaceae and Radulomycetaceae fam. nov. is also provided here.

Purpose. Conduct a generalized assessment of samples of the base collection of hops Humulus lupulus L. Institute of Agriculture Polissia of NAAS of Ukraine according to the level of manifestation of the main morphological characters to highlight domestic varieties with reference characters.Methods. Field, visual estimation, laboratory, analytical.Results. During 2011–2017 samples of the base collection of Humulus lupulus L. hops were evaluated in the conditions of Polissia; the level of manifestation of their main morphological characters was determined. An information base has been formed on the morphological characteristics of hop varieties with a list of foreign standard varieties and domestic applicants for standards on certain characteristics. It was revealed that breeds have varying degrees of characters manifestation. In particular, according to the intensity of the anthocyanin color of the stem from very weak – ‘Slavianka’, ‘Zahrava’ to very strong – ‘Hranit’; according to the color of the upper part of the leaf blade: from yellow-green, characteristic for the ‘Alta’ and ‘Khmeleslav’ varieties to green, for the ‘Zahrava’ and ‘Clon 18’ varieties. By flowering time and onset of technical ripeness of cones, the varie­ties are divided into groups: early – ‘Alta’, medium – ‘Clon 18’, ‘Zahrava’, later – ‘Xanta’, ‘Haidamatskyi’, ‘Hranit’. Among domestic applicants for standards in the form of a bush, the variety ‘Zmina’ – spindle-shaped, ‘Slavianka’ – cylindrical, ‘Alta’ –conical, and others; in the shape of a cone – variety ‘Clone 18’ – cylindrical, ‘Slavianka’ – narrow oval, ‘Ruslan’, ‘Alta’ – oval, ‘Zlato Polissia’ – wide oval and ‘Zhytych’ – spherical.Conclusions. Based on the results of long-term investigations, a comparative assessment of the reference varieties of foreign breeding and samples of the collection of domestic origin was carried out according to the characteristics of the vegetative (stem, leaf, bush), plant generative organs (cone) and phenological descriptions (time of flowering and cone harvesting), which allowed to determine the varieties with stable manifestation of the main identification signs of hops. Domestic varieties that are carriers of individual (‘Zlato Polissia’, ‘Zhytych’, ‘Ruslan’, ‘Poliskyi’) or several traits (‘Slavianka’, ‘Zahrava’, ‘Haidamatskyi’, ‘Clon 18’, ‘Khmeleslav’, ‘Alta’, etc.) are isolated and proposed for use as standards. | Цель. Провести обобщенную оценку образцов базовой коллекции хмеля Humulus lupulus L. Института сельського хозяйства Полесья НААН (ИСГП НААН) по уровню проявления основных морфологических признаков для выделения отечественных сортов с эталонными признаками. Методы. Полевой, визуальной оценки, лабораторный, аналитический. Результаты. В течение 2011–2017 гг. была проведена оценка образцов базовой коллекции хмеля Humulus lupulus L. в условиях Полесья, определен уровень проявления ихних основных морфологических признаков. Сформирована информационная база морфологических признаков сортов хмеля с перечнем иностранных сортов-стандартов и отечественных претендентов на стандарты по определенным признакам. Установлено, что сорта имеют различную степень выявления признаков. В частности, по интенсивности антоциановой окраски стебля от очень слабого – ‘Слов’янка’, ‘Заграва’ к очень сильному – ‘Граніт’; по окраске верхней части листовой пластинки: от желто-зеленой, характерной для сортов ‘Альта’ и ‘Хмелеслав’ к зеленой – для сортов ‘Заграва’ и ‘Клон 18’. По времени цветения и наступления технической спелости шишек сорта распределены по группам: ранние – ‘Альта’, средние – ‘Клон 18’, ‘Заграва’, поздние – ‘Ксанта’, ‘Гайдамацький’, ‘Граніт’. Среди отечественных претендентов на эталоны по форме куста предложено сорт ‘Зміна’ – веретенообразная, ‘Слов’янка’ – цилиндрическая, ‘Альта’ – коническая и др.; по форме шишки – сорт ‘Клон 18’ – цилиндрическая, ‘Славянка’ – узкоовальная, ‘Руслан’, ‘Альта’ – овальная, ‘Злато Полісся’ – широкоовальная и ‘Житич’ – шаровидная. Выводы. По результатам многолетних исследований проведена сравнительная оценка сортов-эталонов иностранной селекции и образцов коллекции отечественного происхождения по характеристикам вегетативных (стебель, лист, куст), генеративных органов растений (шишка) и фенологическим описаниям (время цветения и сбора шишек), что позволило определить сорта со стабильным проявлением основных идентификационных признаков хмеля. Выделены и предложены для использования в качестве эталонов отечественные сорта, которые являются носителями отдельных признаков (‘Злато Полісся’, ‘Житич’, ‘Руслан’, ‘Поліський’) или нескольких (‘Слов’янка’, ‘Заграва’, ‘Гайдамацький’, ‘Клон 18’, ‘Хмелеслав’, ‘Альта’ и др.). | Мета. During 2012–2014 years the collection of the genus Calendula L. was evaluated, that includes 145 samples of 4 species from 18 countries, for the eight morphological characters (plant height, inflorescence number, full inflorescence number, the color of ligulate and tubular florets, number of rows of ligulate florets, inflorescence diameter, disk diame­ter) and varieties were distributed by the level of manifestation according to current technique for distinctness, uniformity and stability (DUS). Conclusions. Samples of marigold were identified that can be sources of standards or starting material by plant height, inflorescence number, inflorescence full number, color of ligulate and tubular florets, number of rows of ligulate florets, inflorescence diameter, disk diameter and by all degree of their manifestation. The best cabbage lettuce varieties for seedling and non seedling planting under the conditions of the open soil were defined. The potential productivity of the varieties under research in the conditions of the open soil were grounded from the scientific point of view. The influence of planting methods on plants productivity, produvtivity and quality of fresh lettuce heads was analyzed.
