Organizing measures in the scope of Ukraine are given, that provide the procedure of the state registration and their rights for fruit, berry, nuciferous species and vine. The expediency of the state registration of fruit and berry crops is grounded as a whole in Ukraine on the basis of the experience of the leading world’s countries. Powers of the State Service on Right Protection for Plant Varieties, Ukrainian Institute of Pant Variety Examination and Applicant were determined in the procedure of the registration of plant varieties and their rights for fruit, berry, nuciferous crops and vine.

Purpose. Analysis of species and varietal diversity of the genus Salvia L. cultivated flora of the world, including Ukraine; prognostic assessment and determination of the directions of ornamental representatives of the genus introduction to the conditions of the Forest-steppe of Ukraine. Methods. Analysis and synthesis, comparison and generalization of information data, introduction forecast. Results. The modern assortment of the genus Salvia is presented in quantitative, taxonomic, arealogical and ecological-cenotic terms. Belonging of the species of the genus to 6 main centers of origin of cultivated plants was determined, and a significant diversity of life forms (nanophanerophytes, microphanerophytes, hamephites, hemicryptophytes, theophytes), naturally formed under the influence of factors determined by different geographical and ecological-phytocenotic conditions of plant growth was reflected. Species assortment of the genus Salvia from the collection fund of the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was analyzed in comparison with the collections of other Ukrainian botanical gardens. The list of decorative species of the collection, found in the natural flora of Ukraine, was given. Three groups of species have been identified by origin, what determines the conditions for plant cultivation in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. In terms of taxonomic structure, introduced sage species belong to eight (according to Bentham, 1833) out of twelve sections, which represent biomorphological diversity and confirm the high introduction potential of these plants.  The species and interspecific hybrids most fully used in breeding work and represented by a significant varietal diversity were distinguished, as well as the sage assortment of the collection of ornamental plants of the NBG was presented. Conclusions. It has been revealed that the species and varietal diversity of the genus Salvia of the world cultivated flora has a significant introduction potential for the Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine. It was determined that the main base for the introduction of the ornamental species of the genus Salvia in Ukraine is the collection of the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The main directions of further introduction and breeding work with representatives of the genus Salvia in the Forest-Steppe conditions of Ukraine were highlighted.

On the base of meteorological data in different places of the varieties and combined interspecific hybrids testing, on the base of pathogen properties of the place of testing, conclusion was made regarding expediency of the test on phyto-resistance for potato forms under Carpathian conditions.

Purpose. To enrich and improve the range of table grape varieties of Ukraine. Methods. Breeding, hybridological, mathematic, visual ones. Results. Modern Ukrainian gene pool of table grape varieties has been created on the base of the best introduced and homegrown cultivars and selections. New genotypes that are creating at the National Scientific Centre “Institute of Viticulture and Wine-Making named after V. Ye. Tairov” under the breeding program “Resistense plus Quality” are the basis of current and future regional assortments for the south and central areas of the steppe zone of Ukraine. The complexity of the origine explains the genetically determined high-level manifestation of commercially valuable characters. New varieties and selections are ecologically safe for humans and the environment, as the level of their resistance to the group of fungal main diseases is not less than 6.5 points according to the 9-point scale, therefore they do not require a large pesticide load. New promising table varieties demonstrate a stable yield and high marketability of grapes – 5–10 kg per plant with the marketability nearly 80–87% during the last five years. In addition, dense flesh of grapes is a guarantee of high transportability. The variety of table genotypes taste, shape and berries ripening from very early to very late embodied in the innovative and highly profitable development “Conveyor of table grapes”. Depending on the ecological and geographical conditions, the conveyor can include a diffe­rent quantity of varieties, but to in order increase the efficiency and profitability it is necessary to have a few groups (from 2 to 4 varietes) of different ripening. The approximate ratio (%) of varieties of different ripening time is recommended: very early – 22%, early – 22%, average – 17%, mid-late – 17%, and late – 22%. Conclusions. The variation of shape, flavour and color of new promising genotypes of table grapes makes them very popular on the market and may satisfy the most demanding consumer. The stability of the adaptive and technological traits makes the new table varieties very attractive for the producers of grape products.

Purpose. Identification of spring barley promising breeding lines with combination of adaptive traits under conditions of the central part of the Ukrainian Forest-Steppe.Methods. Field trial, laboratory-field analysis of drought tolerance, statistical and graphical analysis of experimental data.Results. The analysis of variance of the AMMI model showed that the largest contribution to the general variation (85.78%) had environmental conditions (years of research). The value of the genotype was 8.21%, and the genotype by environment interaction was 6.01%. The first and second principal components of both AMMI and GGE biplot explained more than 85% of the genotype-environment interaction. Spring barley breeding lines ‘Deficiens 5162’, ‘Nutans 5073’ and ‘Deficiens 5161’ had the superior combination of yield performance and relative stability through the years according to GGE biplot. With GYT biplot analysis it has been determined that the breeding lines ‘Deficiens 5162’ and ‘Nutans 5073’ also significantly predominated over the other genotypes in terms of combination of yield performance and a number of other traits – 1000 kernels weight, drought tolerance, resistance to pathogens. Breeding lines ‘Deficiens 5161’, ‘Nutans 4966’, ‘Nutans 4705’, ‘Nutans 4816’, ‘Nutans 5184’, ‘Nutans 5193’, which exceeded the mean value in the trial in terms of combination of yield performance and a number of adaptive traits may have practical significance in the breeding process for creation of new initial material.Conclusions. As a result of the complex evaluation when using AMMI, GGE biplot and GYT biplot graphical models the breeding lines ‘Deficiens 5162’ and ‘Nutans 5073’ with the optimal combination of yield, stability, thousand kernel weight and tolerance to abiotic and biotic environmental factors have been identified | Мета. To reveal the peculiarities of the seasonal rhythm of growth and development of Itoh Group peony cultivars in the conditions of the M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.Methods. The objects of research were plants of 24 cultivars of Itoh Group peonies. The research was conducted on the experimental field of the Department of Flowering and Ornamental Plants of the M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine during 2017–2020. The sum of effective temperatures was calculated by summing the daily air temperatures reduced by the biological zero.                 Results. The phenological phases of Ito Group cultivars growth were determined. Phenological spectra for different groups are presented. It was determined that the flowering of early cultivars: ‘First Arrival’, ‘Hillary’, ‘Julia Rose’, ‘Morning Lilac’, ‘Old Rose Dandy’, ‘Sonoma Apricot’ starts at the sum of effective temperatures ≥ 400 °С. The middle group hybrids bloom when the sum of temperatures reaches 450 °С. This group includes: ‘Bartzella’, ‘Callie’s Memory’, ‘Cora Louise’, ‘Lollipop’, ‘Scarlet Heaven’, ‘Sonoma Velvet Ruby’, ‘Yellow Dream’, ‘Yellow Emperor’, ‘Yellow Heaven’, ‘Yellow Waterlily’. Late flowering group includes: ‘Border Charm’, ‘Garden Treasure’, ‘Kopper Kettle’, ‘Pastel Splendor’, ‘Prairie Charm’, ‘Viking Full Moon’, ‘White Emperor’, ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’; accumulation of effective temperatures above 500 °С is an essential requirement for their flowering.Conclusions. Itoh Group cultivars successfully pass all phases of seasonal development and manage to complete the growing season. Cultivars belong to the spring-summer-autumn-green phenorhythmotype. The onset of the corresponding phenological phases in peonies of the studied group of cultivars requires a certain sum of effective temperatures. Plant outgrowth begins on March 23 – April 2, when the sum of effective temperatures ranges from 20–40 °С. The flowering of varieties characterized as late spring, lasts 6–9 days ± 3–4 days, depending on the varietal characteristics and the year of cultivation. A rapid increase in the sum of effective temperatures up to 700 °C shortens the flowering phase by 4–5 days. An assortment of early (May 22–25 ± 2–3 days), medium (May 26–28 ± 3–5 days) and late-flowering (May 29–31 ± 4–6 days) cultivars has been selected, what ensures the continuity of peony flowering during two months. | Мета. Установити особливості сезонного ритму росту й розвитку сортів півоній Itoh Group в умовах Національного ботанічного саду імені М. М. Гришка НАН України (НБС).Методи. Об’єктом досліджень слугували рослини 24 сортів півоній Itoh Gp. Дослідження проводили на експериментальній ділянці відділу квітниково-декоративних рослин НБС протягом 2017–2020 рр. Суму ефективних температур обраховували через сумування добових температур повітря, зменшених на значення біологічного мінімуму.Результати. Виділено фенологічні фази росту й розвитку рослин півоній Іто-групи. Побудовано фенологічні спектри для різних феногруп. Установлено, що цвітіння ранніх сортів – ‘First Arrival’, ‘Hillary’, ‘Julia Rose’, ‘Morning Lilac’, ‘Old Rose Dandy’, ‘Sonoma Apricot’ – розпочинається за суми ефективних температур ≥ 400 °С. Сорти рослин середньої групи зацвітають, коли сума температур сягає 450 °С. До цієї групи належать ‘Bartzella’, ‘Callie’s Memory’, ‘Cora Louise’, ‘Lollipop’, ‘Scarlet Heaven’, ‘Sonoma Velvet Ruby’, ‘Yellow Dream’, ‘Yellow Emperor’, ‘Yellow Heaven’, ‘Yellow Waterlily’. Пізньоквітуюча група включає сорти ‘Border Charm’, ‘Garden Treasure’, ‘Kopper Kettle’, ‘Pastel Splendor’, ‘Prairie Charm’, ‘Viking Full Moon’, ‘White Emperor’, ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’, необхідною умовою цвітіння яких є накопичення ефективних температур понад 500 °С.Висновки. Рослини сортів півоній Itoh Gp успішно проходять усі фази сезонного розвитку та встигають завершити вегетацію. За тривалістю вегетації вони належать до весняно-літньо-осінньозеленого феноритмотипу. Настання відповідних фенологічних фаз у півоній досліджуваної групи сортів потребує певної суми ефективних температур. Відростання сортів розпочинається 23 березня – 2 квітня, коли сума ефективних температур змінюється в межах 20–40 °С. Цвітіння сортів характеризується як пізньовесняне, триває 9–16 діб ± 3–4 доби й залежить від сортових особливостей рослин та року вирощування. Швидке наростання суми ефективних температур до 700 °C під час цвітіння рослин скорочує його тривалість на 4–5 діб. Аналіз фенологічних спектрів сезонного розвитку рослин дав змогу виділити сортимент ранньо‑ (22–25 травня ± 2–3 доби), середньо‑ (26–28 травня ± 3–5 діб) та пізньоквітуючих (29–31 травня ± 4–6 діб) півоній Itoh Gp, що забезпечує безперервність їхнього цвітіння загалом упродовж двох місяців.

Purpose. Jute mallow (Corchorus olitorius L.) is a mucilaginous vegetable and fiber crop cultivated in the tropics, where catnip (Nepeta cataria L.) and Mexican sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia L.) are common weeds. Hence, the study investigated the growth, yield, and nutrient level of jute mallow in weed-free, catnip, and Mexican sunflower environments.Methods. The study involved two screen-house experiments in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six replications. The treatments were 0 (control), 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 weed plants per pot in both experiments. These are 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 weed count per square meter equivalent, based on the surface area of the pots used. Mexican sunflower and catnip plants interacted with jute plants in the first and second experiments, respectively. Growth parameters of jute mallow were recorded weekly from 5 to 8 weeks after sowing (WAS), and harvesting was done at 8 WAS. The proximate composition of jute was evaluated using standard procedures outlined by AOAC. The data collected were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA), and means were separated using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at P < 0.05.Results. Catnip and Mexican sunflower negatively impacted the morphological features of jute mallow from 100 plants per square meter upwards. Catnip and Mexican sunflower, at 300 and 100?500 plants per square meter, respectively, reduced the dry weight of jute mallow. The crude protein content of jute mallow was also lessened by Mexican sunflower at some point.Conclusions. The study recommends that the density of catnip and Mexican sunflower plants interacting with jute mallow should be maintained below 100 plants per square meter to prevent yield loss. | ????. ???? ???????????? Catnip and Mexican sunflower negatively impacted the morphological features of jute mallow from 100 plants per square meter upwards. Catnip and Mexican sunflower, at 300 and 100–500 plants per square meter, respectively, reduced the dry weight of jute mallow. The crude protein content of jute mallow was also lessened by Mexican sunflower at some point. Conclusions. The study recommends that the density of catnip and Mexican sunflower plants interacting with jute mallow should be maintained below 100 plants per square meter to prevent yield loss.

Purpose. Jute mallow (Corchorus olitorius L.) is a mucilaginous vegetable and fiber crop cultivated in the tropics, where catnip (Nepeta cataria L.) and Mexican sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia L.) are common weeds. Hence, the study investigated the growth, yield, and nutrient level of jute mallow in weed-free, catnip, and Mexican sunflower environments. Methods. The study involved two screen-house experiments in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six replications. Purpose. To reveal the influence of the substrate compositions on technical indicators and the chemical composition of the fruiting bodies of the golden oyster mushroom and poplar mushroom.Methods. The experimental design included cultivation of two species of wood-decay fungi Pleurotus citrinopileatus Singer (strain 2161 IVK) and Cyclocybe aegerita (V.Brig.) Vizzini (strain 2230 IVK) on three variants of substrate composition. Laboratory, laboratory-production methods for evaluating the effectiveness of growing technology, chemical composition of the obtained raw materials, statistical methods of analysis were applied.Results. The structure and composition of substrates affect the technological characteristics of the culture, physical and chemical properties of fruiting bodies. The shortest fruiting cycle of 35.2 ? 1.7 days was determined for C. aegerita under growing conditions on SC1 substrate which formula included ?straw, husks, pellet, rapeseed, corn, and CaCO3? in the ratio of 30: 40: 70: 20: 20: 1. The highest yield (170.5 ? 15.2 g per 1 kg of substrate) in the experiment was determined for P. citrinopileatus on the SC1 substrate composed of ?straw / pellets? / rapeseed / corn /?CaCO3? in the ratio 40: 90: 20: 25: 1. Fruiting bodies of P. citrinopileatus obtained from the SC3 substrate composed of? ?pellets / rapeseed / corn / CaCO3? in the ratio 60: 110: 20: 30: 1 had the highest protein content ? 22.47 ? 0.19%, and fruiting bodies from the SC1 substrate had the least amount of proteins ? 17.38 ? 2.60%. Fruiting bodies of C.?aegerita contained more lipids than those of P. citrinopileatus, but the factor of the influence of the substrate composition on the total amount of lipids for some cultivars was insignificant. The largest amount of endopolysaccharides was isolated from the fruiting bodies of C. aegerita (6.81 ? 0.41%) cultivated on SC3 substrate, and the smallest in the SC1 variant (1.38 ? 0.25%). The content of endopolysaccharides in the fruiting bodies of P. citrinopileatus had less variability from 2.54 ? 0.54 (SC3) to 4.72 ? 0.61% (SC1).Conclusion. Substrate compositions significantly affect the biological efficiency of cultivars and the content of nutrients in fruiting bodies of the studied species. Мета. Установити вплив складу субстратних композицій на технічні показники та хімічний склад плодових тіл гливи золотої та опенька тополевого. Методи. Схема експерименту включала вирощування двох видів дерево­руйнівних грибів Pleurotus citrinopileatus Singer (штам 2161 ІВК) та Cyclocybe aegerita (V.Brig.) Vizzini (штам 2230 ІВК) на трьох варіантах субстратних композицій. Застосовано лабораторні, лабораторно-виробничі методи оцінки ефективності технології вирощування, хімічного складу отриманої сировини, статистичні методи аналізу. Результати. Структура та склад субстратів впливають на технологічні характеристики культури, фізичні та хімічні властивості плодових тіл. Найкоротший цикл плодоношення у 35,2 ± 1,7 доби визначено для культури C. aegerita за умов вирощування на субстраті СК1 з формулою «солома / лушпиння / гранули / ріпак / кукурудза / крейда» у співвідношенні 30 : 40 : 70 : 20 : 20 : 1. Найвищу врожайність (170,5 ± 15,2 г на 1 кг субстрату) у досліді визначено для P. citrinopileatus на субстраті СК2 з формулою «солома / гранули / ріпак / кукурудза / крейда» у співвідношенні 40 : 90 : 20 : 25 : 1. Плодові тіла P. citrinopileatus, отримані із субстрату СК3 з формулою «гранули / ріпак / кукурудза / крейда» у співвідношенні 60 : 110 : 20 : 30 : 1, мали найвищий у досліді вміст білків – 22,47 ± 0,19%, а найменшу кількість білків – 17,38 ± 2,60% – мали плодові тіла із субстрату СК1. Плодові тіла C. aegerita містили більше ліпідів порівняно з плодовими тілами P. citrinopileatus, але чинник впливу складу субстрату на загальну кількість ліпідів для деяких культиварів виявився несуттєвим. Найвищу кількість ендо­полісахаридів виділено з плодових тіл C. aegerita (6,81 ± 0,41%), отриманих із субстрату СК3, а найменшу – у варіанті СК1 (1,38 ± 0,25%). Уміст ендополісахаридів у плодових тілах P. citrinopileatus мав меншу варіативність: від 2,54 ± 0,54 (СК3) до 4,72 ± 0,61% (СК1). Висновки. Склад субстратних композицій суттєво впливає на біологічну ефективність культиварів та вміст нутрієнтів у плодових тілах досліджених видів. Отримані результати дають змогу грибівникам спрогнозувати ефективність виробництва та якість отриманих грибів відповідно до використання доступної сировини.

Purpose. Comprehensive study, selection, evaluation and systematization of self-pollinated lines of maize (Zea mays L.) obtained on the basis of material of diffe?rent genetic structure from endosperm of flint and dent maize were implemented according to the main economically valuable traits and precocity in order to select the best genotypes for selection.Methods. Hybridization, inbreeding were used in the process of creating the initial material; visual method ? for phenological observations; laboratory and field ? to determine the morphobiological characteristics of self-pollinated lines of maize; measuring and weighing ? to account the harvest and determine the metric characteristics of plants; mathematical and statistical ? to determine the validity of the results, indicators of trait variability, correlation dependence of traits; analysis of variance; comprehensive assessment of morphobiological and economically valuable traits of self-pollinated maize lines of the most common germplasms.Results. As a result of assessment of self-pollinated lines of the most common germplasms, it was revealed that the highest level of grain yield was obtained under both sowing periods ? Iodent germplasm; the minimum grain moisture content ? Flint and Mix germplasms; the shortest average duration of the emergence ? flowering of 50% of male and female inflorescences stage ? Flint germplasm; steadily high va?lues ??of plant height for germplasm Mix ? under the optimal sowing date, and Iodent plasma ? under the late sowing date. Steadily high values ??of the ear insertion height at both sowing dates were obtained for lines based on Iodent germplasm. The number of the most precocious and the best by the economically valuable traits germplasms of self-pollinated lines were identified.Conclusions. The DK239 lines ? Flint germplasm, DK7174, DK2285, DK305, DK2613, DK5568 ? Iodent germplasm, DK2332 and DK2659 ? Mix germplasm were the most precocious and the best by the economically valuable traits. Мета. Обґрунтувати інформаційно-технічні особливості використання інструментальних засобів IBM SPSS Statistics під час визначення критерію відмінності нових сортів салату посівного Lactuca sativa L. var. capitata на підставі морфологічних кодових формул фенотипів загальновідомих сортів із використанням алгоритму «найближчого сусіда» в групі подібних сортів. Методи. Аналітичний, що ґрунтується на порівнянні методів та засобів інтелектуального аналізу даних, отриманих методом ідентифікації – морфологічний опис сорту з подальшим застосуванням описової та багатовимірної статистики. Відповідно до «Методики проведення експертизи сортів салату посівного Lactuca sativa L. на відмінність, однорідність і стабільність» для групування сортів використовували ознаки, які не варіюють або дуже слабко варіюють. Ці ознаки використовуються окремо або у комбінаціях з іншими. Результати. У результаті моделювання з використанням пакету SPSS було сформовано декілька моделей подібних сортів Lactuca sativa L. var. сapitata. Загальна кількість сортів у вибірці розподілена таким чином: 71,4% репрезентували навчальну вибірку, а 28,6% – конт­рольну. Результативні дані візуалізовано на діаграмах моделі найбільшої подібності. Слід враховувати тип вираження досліджуваної характеристики (ознаки): якісним, кількісним, псевдо-якісним чином. Імітаційний експеримент з моделлю схожих сортів салату головчастого показав залежність результату від обраної цільової змінної. У ролі цільових змінних були ознаки: «рослина: утворення головки», «головка за щільністю», «насінина: забарвлення», «розмір головки». Висновки. Встановлено ефективність технологічних засобів аналізу даних експертизи на відмінність, однорідність і стабільність (ВОС), що значно полегшує пошук закономірностей серед великого набору даних. Розмежування даних на навчальні та контрольні дозволяє провести «тренування» моделі на наборі даних загальновідомих сортів. Під час побудови моделі важливо правильно визначити цільову та фокусні змінні. Як інструментальний засіб рекомендовано використовувати пакет статистичних програм IBM SPSS Statistics.

To create an industrial hemp variety of the Central European ecological and geographical type with a high cannabigerol content and universal application.Methods. Breeding (self-pollination, creation of artificial populations, selection), field, biochemical (thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography of cannabinoid compounds), instrumental and technological assessment of fibre quality, and statistical methods.Results. Variety ?Vik 2020? was obtained as a result of creation of artificial populations. The plants are characterized by higher content of cannabigerol (1.034 ? 0.0323%), and almost zero of other secondary metabolites, such as cannabidivarin, cannabidiol, cannabichromene and psychotropic tetrahydrocannabinol (0.003 ? 0.0011; 0.018 ? 0.0080; 0.012 ? 0.0027, and 0.005 ? 0.0012%, respectively). The t rait of cannabigerol content is quite stable within the population and is not correlated with the trait of tetrahydrocannabinol content (r = -0.23). TLC showed that cannabigerol accumulated mainly in the form of cannabigerolic acid and to a lesser extent as a neutral compound, which is consistent with the theory that this substance is a precursor for the synthesis of other cannabinoids. According to the results of the competitive variety test, when growing to obtain fibre and seeds, the variety features short height, specifically significantly lower total (206.4 cm) and technical stem length (135.6 cm) compared to the standard variety, significantly higher inflorescence length (70.8 cm), which determine the formation of the significant yield of biomass suitable for pharmaceutical use and high seed yield (0.98 t/ha). The yield of total fibre was the same as in the standard variety (29.0%), but its quality and technological value for primary processing were higher. The variety had a homogeneous sex structure, resistance to bioltic and abiotic environmental factors. Plants reached biological maturity in 116 days (BBCH 89). This cultivar is recommended for obtaining seeds, quality fiber and potentially cannabigerol (on condition of changes in legislation).Conclusions.
