The morphological and agrobiological characteristics and qualities, the potential of the new registered winter wheat varieties, which are suitable for intensive technologies have been learned.

Мета. Визначення генетичних ефектів ПЖТ 1AL.1RS і 1ВL.1RS на врожайність, елементи продуктивності рослин та показники якості рекомбінантних ліній, установлення ефективності використання кожної з ПЖТ для створення досконаліших за цими ознаками сортів пшениці м’якої озимої в умовах ґрунтово-повітряних посух у степовій зоні України та розроблення селекційних заходівів зменшення негативних ефектів транслокацій для отримання генотипів з високими показниками якості зерна цінної і сильної пшениці. Методи. Польові експерименти, внутрішньовидова гібридизація, оцінювання селекційного матеріалу в польових умовах, методи лабораторного визначення показників хлібопекарських якостей зерна, електрофорез запасних білків, статистичні. Результати. У посушливих умовах Півдня України на великому експериментальному матеріалі селекційного процесу виявлено позитивний вплив ПЖТ 1AL.1RS на врожайність рекомбінантних ліній та основні елементи продуктивності рослин, що проявляється на фоні одночасного позитивного ефекту цієї транслокації на посухо- й жаростійкість. Використання в селекції пшениці ПЖТ 1ВL.1RS у цьому регіоні є менш перспективним заходом. Установлено, що введення шляхом гібридизації в місцевий генофонд пшениці м’якої озимої пшенично-житніх транслокацій 1АL.1RS та 1ВL.1RS змінює показники якості зерна. Зокрема, вміст білка, зазвичай, має тенденцію до підвищення, при цьому він суттєвіше зростає завдяки транслокації 1ВL.1RS. Показано, що частота отримання рекомбінантних ліній, які поєднують високу врожайність та мають добрі хлібопекарські властивості не нижче цінних і сильних пшениць, досить низька (1,7–6,1%). Однак, переваги за цим показником мають інтрогресивні лінії з ПЖТ 1АL.1RS. Використовуючи комбінування в процесі гібридизації ПЖТ з алелями з високим позитивним впливом на хлібопекарські властивості, а також створюючи гетерогенність у складі генотипів з ПЖТ і без них, можна спрямовано зменшувати негативний вплив ПЖТ на якість зерна пшениці м’якої озимої і створювати сорти з параметрами якості цінних і сильних пшениць. Висновки. Отримані результати дають підстави стверджувати, що використання ПЖТ 1AL.1RS є перспективним напрямом подальшого селекційного нарощування генетичного потенціалу врожайності сортів пшениці м’якої озимої в посушливих умовах Півдня України. У результаті повного циклу селекційного процесу на матеріалі з ПЖТ 1АL.1RS, створена серія сортів пшениці м’якої озимої – ‘Житниця одеська’, ‘Октава одеська’, ‘Ліга одеська’, ‘Дума одеська’, ‘Версія одеська’, які забезпечують підвищення врожайності на 10–15% порівняно зі стандартами та занесені до Державних реєстрів сортів рослин України та Молдови.

Interpretation of the main regulations of low of Ukraine "About protection of rights for plant varieties", regulating property and unproperty relations, which arise while reception, use, protection, alienations and stopping of act of right for plant variety in state.

Introduction. National varietal plant resources are of particular importance for the economic development of Ukraine, because they ensure the stability of the crop industry as a component of the country’s food security. The analysis of the historiography of the development of the state variety testing since 1923 showed the lack of a systematic study of the formation of the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine (hereinafter – the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine). Purpose. To reveal the historical stages of the formation of national plant varietal resources, and substantiate the concept of their development. Methods. A collection of commonly known plant varieties that are or were in commercial circulation. Research methods – general scientific: hypothesis, observation, analysis, synthesis method for drawing conclusions; source study database with elements of extrapolation, which is formed based on the results of field, laboratory and analytical research. Results. The study of the history of state variety testing regulation made it possible to find out that the variety testing netork in Ukraine was established in 1923. The refore, the formation of national varietal plant resources has its own almost a hundred-year history. At all historical stages of the formation of national varietal resources, a variety with a complex of its morphobiological and economically valuable characteristics remains the subject of the research. State registration of a variety or rights to it ensures the commercial circulation of the variety. Identification of plant varieties, as the basis for varietal certification, increases the turnover of varieties on the market, ensures the growth of production volumes and improves the quality of crop products. Plant varieties distributed on the territory of Ukraine correspond to the criteria of distinctness, uniformity and stability generally accepted in international practice; meet the needs of consumers in terms of economically valuable characteristics; do not threaten the environment and human health. The formation of national plant varietal resources takes place in stages with the tendency to increase the economically valuable criteria, which ensures the competitiveness of the modern market of varieties and seeds in accordance with international requirements. Conclusions. The formation of plant varietal resources to meet the needs of consumers and/or breeding practice in Ukraine took place due to rather long historical stages of development and introduction of plant diversity, forms, criteria and methodology of varietal testing in time and space. The substantiation of the historical aspects of the concept of the varietal resources formation will allow optimizing the structure of the variety testing network, organizational foundations of the state registration of varieties and the protection of breeder’s rights. | Вступ. Національні сортові рослинні ресурси мають особливе значення для економічного розвитку України, адже вони забезпечують стабільність галузі рослинниц­тва як складової продовольчої безпеки держави. Аналіз історіографії розвитку державного сортовипробування з 1923 року показав відсутність системного дослідження формуванняя Державного реєстру сортів рослин, придатних для поширення в Україні (далі – Реєстр сортів рослин України). На всіх історичних етапах формування національних рослинних сортових ресурсів предметом дослідження залишається сорт з комплексом своїх морфобіологічних та господарсько-цінних характеристик. Державна реєстрація сорту або прав на нього забезпечує комерційний обіг сорту. Ідентифікація сортів рослин як основа сортової сертифікації збільшує обіг сортів на ринку, забезпечує зростання обсягів виробництва та підвищення якості продукції рослинництва. Сорти рослин, поширені на території України, відповідають загальноприйнятим у міжнародній практиці критеріям відмінності, однорідності та стабільності; задовольняють потреби споживачів за господарсько-цінними характеристиками; не загрожують довкіллю і здоров’ю людини. Формування національних рослинних сортових ресурсів відбувається поетапно з тенденцією підвищення господарсько-цінних критеріїв, що забезпечує конкурентність сучасного ринку сортів і насіння відповідно до міжнародних вимог. Висновки. Формування рослинних сортових ресурсів для задоволення потреб споживачів та/або селекційної практики в Україні відбувалось завдяки доволі тривалим історичним етапам розвитку та інтродукції рослинного різноманіття, форм, критеріїв і методології сортовипробувальної справи в часі і просторі. Об´рунтування історичних аспектів концепції формування сортових ресурсів дозволить оптимізувати структуру сортовипробувальної мережі, організаційні основи державної реєстрації сортів та охорони прав селекціонера.

The article explains meaning of successive introduction of plants followed by their integration into cultivation, and scientifically grounded development of national varietal sources from the diversity of plants taking into account methodological aspects of practical application of botanical semantic, classification and binary nomenclature of botanical taxa. It also shows scientific aspects of systematic units differentiation caused by relevant Latin names of botanical taxa, which are to facilitate harmonization of UPOV membertates cooperation in the protection of rights of intellectual property on breeding achievements – plant varieties.

There has been studied the Levis coefficients stability in very short dynamical series. It has been established that we can study the ecological stability of variety even in two years test. There has been pointed the growth absolutly coefficients in long test. Estimation of variety to demand three statistical characteristics - mean, coefficients of stability and elasticity.

Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam, also known as sweet potato, is an extremely versatile and delicious vegetable that possesses high nutritional value. It is also a valuable medicinal plant having anti-cancer, antidiabetic, and anti-inflammatory activities. Sweet potato is now considered a valuable source of unique natural products, including some that can be used in the development of medicines against various diseases and in making industrial products. The overall objective of this review is to give a bird's-eye view of the nutritional value, health benefits, phytochemical composition, and medicinal properties of sweet potato. Specifically, this review outlines the biological activities of some of the sweet potato compounds that have been isolated, the pharmacological action of the sweet potato extract, clinical studies, and plausible medicinal applications of sweet potato (along with a safety evaluation), and demonstrates the potential of sweet potato as a medicinal food.

Мета. Обґрунтувати застосування коефіцієнта фенотипової стабільності Левіса (S.F.) для визначення стабільності прояву кількісних і господарсько-цінних ознак національних сортів батату (Ipomoea batatas L.). Методи. Польові дослідження з комплексної оцінки нових сортів батату здійснювали протягом 2021–2022 рр. в умовах Інституту овочівництва і баштанництва НААН (Харківська обл.). Проведено фенологічні спостереження та біометричні вимірювання рослин, а також фіксацію метеорологічних даних упродовж вегетації, зокрема в міжфазні періоди культури. Стабільність досліджуваних ознак визначали у спосіб пошуку граничних значень їх прояву (Xmax і Xmin) та подальшого розрахунку коефіцієнта фенотипової стабільності Левіса (SF). Результати. Застосування коефіцієнта фенотипової стабільності Левіса (SF) дало змогу визначити стабільність прояву морфологічних ознак сортів батату (Ipomoea batatas L.), зокрема кількісних характеристик бульб: їх чисельність під кущем для сорту ‘Адмірал’ – 5,3 шт., для ‘Слобожанський рубін’ – 3,7 шт.; середня маса бульби – 254 і 283 г відповідно. Ознака «індекс форми бульб батату» забезпечила стабільність із коефіцієнтом 0,98 (‘Адмірал’) і 1,03 (‘Слобожанський рубін’). Стабільність прояву морфологічних ознак бульб батату встановлено для поширених на території України сортів ‘Адмірал’ і ‘Слобожанський рубін’. Вони репрезентують дві групи стиглості, а тому різняться за тривалістю періоду формування бульб. Так, ранньостиглий ‘Адмірал’ має період вегетації 100–110 діб; середньостиглий ‘Слобожанський рубін’ – 110–120 діб. Висновки. Стабільнішою за шириною була кількісна ознака бульби батату сорту ‘Адмірал’; за довжиною – сорту ‘Слобожанський рубін’. Значення довжини бульби варіювалися в межах сортів. Індекс форми бульб батату як ідентифікаційна ознака сортів виявився варіабельно нестабільним; розрахований коефіцієнт фенотипової стабільності Левіса був нижчим за одиницю для обох досліджуваних сортів.

Morphological and nutritional studies were carried out on various parts of the two varieties of Ipomoea batatas (white fleshed TIS 87/0087 and orange fleshed UMUSPO/3) to determine their morphological and nutritional characteristics using standard techniques. Analysis of variance was employed for data analysis. Result revealed that the two varieties had similar qualitative morphological features but showed variation in their length, breadth, colour and girth. The result of the proximate analysis revealed that the nutrients were present in all the parts of the two varieties investigated but in varied proportions. Protein, fat and ash were highest in the leaves of both varieties when compared to other parts (12.13±0.20mg/100g, 3.92±0.14mg/100g and 2.85±0.06mg/100g of I.  batatas respectively.  Moisture and carbohydrate were highest in the tubers of both varieties when compared to other parts (10.73±0.22mg/100g and 81.22±3.80mg/100g) respectively while crude fiber was highest in the stem of the two varieties when compared to other parts (26.15±0.29mg/100g). Data obtained indicated that these parts of the two varieties contained appreciable amount of nutrients which could be included in diets to supplement our daily nutrient needs and animal feed. Apart from the tuber eaten by our people, other parts of the plant should also be used as food. Overall data could be a viable tool for sweet potato breeding as an improvement in sweet potato production. Morphological characteristics observed were similar indicating that the two varieties are phyllogenetically related. The data could also be used to enhance proper taxonomic characterization and identification of the species I.  batatas.

To justify the use of the Lewis phenotypic stabi­lity factor (SF) to determine the stability of the manifestation of quantitative and economic value characteristics of national varieties of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.).Methods. Field research on the comprehensive assessment of new sweet potato varieties was carried out in 2021–2022 at the Institute of Vegetable and Melon of the NAAS (Kharkiv Region). Phenological observations and biometric measurements of plants were carried out, as well as recording of meteorological data during the growing season, in particular during interphase periods of the culture. The stability of the studied traits was determined by finding the limit values of their manifestation (Xmax and Xmin) and further calculating the Levis phenotypic stability factor (SF).Results. The use of the Levis phenotypic stability factor (SF) made it possible to determine the stability of the manifestation of morphological features of sweet potato varieties (I. batatas), in particular, the quantitative characteristics of tubers: their number under the bush for the variety ‘Admiral’ is 5.3 pcs., for ‘Slobozhanskyi rubin’ – 3.7 pcs.; the average weight of the tuber is 254 and 283 g, respectively. The trait “sweet potato tuber shape index” ensured stability with a coefficient of 0.98 (‘Admiral’) and 1.03 (‘Slobozhanskyi rubin’). The stability of the manifestation of morphological features of sweet potato tubers was established for the varieties ‘Admiral’ and ‘Slobozhanskyi rubin’, which are common in Ukraine. They represent two maturity groups, and therefore differ in the duration of the tuber formation period. Thus, the early-ripening ‘Admiral’ has a vegetation period of 100–110 days; medium-ripening ‘Slobozhanskyi rubin’ – 110–120 days.Conclusions. The quantitative trait of sweet potato tubers of the ‘Admiral’ variety was more stable in terms of width; ‘Slobozhanskyi rubin’ variety – in terms length. Tuber length values varied within cultivars. The shape index of sweet potato tubers as an identification feature of varieties turned out to be variably unstable; the calculated Lewis phenotypic stability factor was lower than unity for both studied varieties.

Дается анализ современных гибридов сахарной свеклы, которые внесены в Государственный реестр сортов растений Украины в последние годы. Дається аналіз сучасних гібридів цукрового буряку, внесених до Державного реєстру сортів рослин, придатних для поширення в Україні останніми роками. Переведення галузі на інтенсивний шлях розвитку можливе за умови комплексного підходу до вирішення цієї проблеми.
