2007
Tadic, M.,Metalursko-tehnoloski fakultet, Podgorica (Montenegro)
In this paper there are presented the results of organic matter index, as dominant component of unsettled water of settlement, which after specified time locate into deeply karst underground appear on spring of river. Obtained results showed that into deeply karst underground has become to certain level of autopurification, which reflecting values of index this loading on the water of spring - river.

Since the water from the intergranular aquifer of Cemovsko Polje (Montenegro) represents an invaluable drinking water reserve, which can also be used for irrigation, the check up of the aquifer revealed that it is being infiltrated by pollutants from somewhere within the catchment area. The results have shown that the mentioned water from the intergranular aquifer (T3 and T4) is influenced by the agricultural activities in the area, leakage from the uncontrolled landfill of Podgorica, depending on the hydrological conditions, and, to a smaller degree, by the quality of the surface waterflows, with which it is connected.

Ecological status of protected area of Ponjavica water body, evaluated using hydromorphological, basic physico-chemical and selected biological quality elements, can be indicated as very bad. The accerelated eutrophication process this water body (once running now stragnant water) undergoes, leads to hypereutrophic current condition, with clear trend towards dystrophy.

Milenovic, V.,Osnovna skola Vuk Karadzic, Zitkovac (Serbia) | Randelovic, N.,Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Nis (Serbia)
During the research of the flora of the river Moravica methodology of ass. Scirpo-Phragmitetum, Koch 1926, subass. typhetosum latifoliae, Pignotti 1953, with differential typa Typha latifolia with related marshy plants was applied. The community is developed as small units in the lower flow of the river Moravica (the part flowing through the town Aleksinac), where the anthropogenic influences are significant due to the empting of the sewage and industrial polluted waters of the town Aleksinac. Many diffuse forms of pollution are also present, particularly in the form of illegal dumps. Waste waters represent serious load on the recipient river and influence qualitative and quantitative content of the phytocenosis. Ecological index of the community shows change in water quality and presence of organic substances (above all nitrogen compounds) in the water and the riverbed ass. Scirpo-Phragmitetum, Koch 1926, subass. typhetosum latifoliae, Pignotti 1953, which indicates the riverbed loaded with organic substances (mezotrophic plants, N=3.50)

In order to investigate the effects of wastewater from the Vrbas-Kula-Crvenka industrial basin on Grand Backa canal water quality, the water quality in the canal and the lateral canals which fall into the Grand Backa canal was examined, along with industrial water quality for ten of the most important polluters of those canals. A significant deterioration of Grand Backa canal water quality downstream of the lateral canals I-61 and I-64 was detected, as a consequence of waste water emission from the Vrbas-Kula-Crvenka industrial basin polluters. Data analysis has shown that two sugar factories are the heaviest polluters in the examined industrial basin.

A monitoring program was organized with the aim of assessing the quality of sediment and water in Nadela canal regarding metal content (Cr, Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, Hg). Water was the 1st/2nd class according to national requirements. The Canadian probable effect guideline value for sediment quality is occasionally or constantly exceeded for different metals. Mercury and zinc contents are in elevated concentrations and nickel shows a tendency for accumulation. The results obtained give a preliminary overview of watercourse imperilment.

Water wells are among the oldest hydraulic engineering structures in the world. Today, hundreds of water wells service water supply systems in Serbia, and groundwaters are widely used for public water supply. Extensive practical engineering experience in water well operation has identified a number of problems which affect well service life and capacity (i.e. reduce specific yield). Some of the encountered problems are, also, a result of microbial activity in groundwater. Products of life processes of groundwater specific microbial community cause biocorrosion, blockage, closure, plugging, deposition, and biofouling of well screens and collectors. We applied BART biodetectors as a reliable tool in monitoring well rehabilitation effectiveness. This paper presents several process assessments based on BART biodetector tests conducted at Belgrade groundwater source.

Kascelan, S.,Institut za biologiju mora, Kotor (Montenegro)
Sea urchin, Paracentrotus lividus belongs to Echinoderms and has wide distribution as well in Meditarranean Sea as in the Adriatic Sea. It is very appreciated as object for testing negative impact of pollution, so can be used as bio indicator of sea water and sediments quality. Identification of the presence of this animal is done at 11 locations inside the Bay of Boka Kotorska (Montenegro), during 2005/2006. Obtained results show that the sea-urchin inhabit only outer part of Boka Kotorska Bay, where is open sea impact very strong, while inner part of the Bay is characterized by absence of Paracentrotus lividus, what can be caused by potential low quality of the sea water in the Bay.
