Analysis of Accessibility to Family Health Centers in Antalya Using GIS
2022
Orhun Soydan
Family health centers in Turkey started to be implemented for the first time in Düzce in 2004 years within the scope of Law No. 5258. While determining the physical conditions of the places where family health centers are built, the first item in the regulation is that the building should be easily accessible. This situation shows the importance of the subject in terms of accessibility. While determining the features of the places where FHCs will be made, environmental characteristics are also taken into consideration. Environmental features are effective in determining the FHCs location in different ways. These impacts are divided into two groups: the physical features that pavements, roads and parks can include, and the social, cultural and institutional features of neighborhoods that include local social ties and collective activities. From this point of view, the importance of the location of family health centers relative to roads and houses is understood. The aim of this study is to examine the accessibility of Family Health Centers in Konyaaltı, Antalya, on a neighborhood basis using Geographic Information Systems. Konyaaltı has 21 Family Health Centers. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that most of the neighborhoods had problems in terms of accessibility, while a very few of them did not experience problems in terms of accessibility. In terms of the total number of buildings, the ratio of buildings that are 500 meters walking distance from any family health center by using highways is 35.56%. With these rates, 3,634 of the 10,2018 buildings remain within the limits of the regulation. Finally; suggestions were made to increase accessibility to these areas.

2020
Orhun Soydan | Ahmet Benliay
After realizing that multi-storey buildings are contrary to human nature, the importance of natural landscape and green areas around it has been noticed. For this reason, people want to see how their environment will be in the design phase and the importance of project presentations is increasing day by day. Information technologies for spatial thinking, imagination and modelling have gradually started to be included in landscape design processes. The concept of virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive virtual reality are becoming more and more involved in our lives due to reasons such as the size of the devices getting smaller and their prices being relatively accessible to everyone. As an alternative to traditional presentation techniques and two-dimensional presentation techniques on the computer, making presentations in a virtual reality environment can be a stronger factor in people’s perception of the environment. In the study visual sets in basic, intermediate and advanced level of detail for the same landscape design and project site have been created. Each set consists of hand-drawn perspective image, computer aided perspective image, stereoscopic 360-degree VR image and an augmented reality model. In order to evaluate these visual sets, interviews were made with 10 landscape architects who are experts in the subject. As a result of the study, criteria’s for landscape presentations has been discussed and the advantages and disadvantages of landscape design presentations that will be created using virtual and augmented reality have been evaluated.

2022
Orhun Soydan | Ahmet Benliay
In this study, it is aimed to understand the effects of structural and vegetative elements that can be used in landscape designs on the temperature factor, which will greatly affect the climatic comfort, by using artificial neural networks. In this context, measurements were carried out in the morning (08:00-09:00), noon (13:00-14:00) and evening (17:00-18:00) of a total of 100 days, 50 days in each of the winter and summer seasons, at 7 randomly selected points in the Akdeniz University Campus. In these measurements, the temperature difference values of 11 cover elements on 7 different floor covering types were measured, and the ambient air temperature, humidity and wind values were also determined. The temperature differences between the areas where the flooring elements are exposed to direct sun and the shadow effect of different plant and cover elements were determined using an infrared laser thermometer. These values were processed with Neural Designer software and possible temperature difference prediction values were created for 57.750 different alternatives with the help of artificial neural network model from 837 sets of data. Evaluation shows that the maximum temperature difference is 15.6°C at noon in the summer months in the red tartan flooring material and Callistemon viminalis cover material. While the artificial neural network model predicts that there will be a high 2-3° C temperature difference for the alternatives, it has made predictions for temperature differences between 0-10°C in winter and 0-16°C in summer months. Although the temperature differences that will occur in the noon hours are distributed over a wide range of values, it seems that the morning and evening forecasts are concentrated between 0-7°C values. Also, it has been determined that the wind and humidity in the environment are more important factors than the ambient temperature in terms of temperature differences.

2022
Ruhugül Özge Gemici | Serpil Önder
The sculpture, which is the expression of beliefs and fears in prehistoric times, has taken on different roles as an urban reinforcement element in all cultures with numerous themes. In the Middle Ages, it became an organic part of the architectural structure, teaching the truth about religious beliefs. With the Renaissance movement, it became independent by breaking away from the architectural structure and moved to the urban space. In the twenty-first century, its dimensions have grown to be equivalent to architecture, it has created its own space and established new aesthetic and functional relations with the audience. In this study, the relationship of some sculptures on the Alaeddin Keykubat campus of Selcuk University with the landscape elements was examined in terms of design elements and basic design principles. In the light of the data obtained, suggestions have been developed in order to increase the life and aesthetic quality of the campus.

2017
Sertaç Güngör | Ahmet Tuğrul Polat
Ensuring comfort of use and security of pedestrians, which are the main users of urban green spaces, and the determination of their needs are important since local authorities are guiding for new pedestrian zone studies in the Konya city. Because of the problems caused by the upper structure, the necessary care is not given in terms of transportation comfort, pedestrian safety, vehicle security, plant design and ergonomic / antropemetric standards. The pedestrian way and refuge landscape designs have an important position and amount among open green areas on the scale of Konya. However, it was identified that the applications conducted were inadequate in terms of aesthetic and functional characteristics and were not suitable for the urban landscape design principles, in general, and the standards of urban afforestation of the streets. In this study, the current situation of 3 main streets of Konya used most intensely was examined in terms of landscape design criteria and some suggestions were made by attempting to identify the improvement works that should be performed by the public authorities.

2023
Ruhugül Özge Gemici
Hospital gardens, located within urban open-green areas, are places created for patients coming to the hospital, their relatives and the staff working in the hospital to spend time in an environment where they can renew themselves. The importance of these places is increasing day by day. The purpose of this study is to examine the landscape design of the Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine hospital garden located on the Selcuk University Alaeddin Keykubad Campus. The findings show that the hospital garden was generally not designed in accordance with landscape design principles. With the suggestions developed, this hospital garden can be redesigned in accordance with landscape design principles and made more comfortable for people using the hospital garden.
