Residual Effects of Organic Manure on Onion Varieties’ Mineral Content النص الكامل

This study was conducted to determine the residual effects of chicken manure applications on nutrients in leaves and bulbs of second crop onion that grown after lettuce in greenhouse conditions. In the study, residual effects of chicken manure in 4 different doses (control, 20 t ha-1, 40 t ha-1, 60 t ha-1) and chemical fertilizers applied in the recommended amounts are investigated. Three onion varieties, called Burgaz, Snow white, Champion, were used. In the study, the lowest nutrient uptake was observed in control. However, the highest mineral content in leaves and bulbs were determined in the plots, that on average 40 t ha-1 chicken manure was applied to. In terms of leaf nutrient content, when the varieties were compared to each other, Ca, Mg, and Cu contents were found to be the highest in the Burgaz variety. Phosphorus, Zn, Mn contents were analyzed to be the highest in Snow white while N values determined maximum in Champion. The Champion variety contained higher nutrient values in bulbs.

Turkey as well as in the developing world science, technology and the changing rural development and manufacturing approach accordingly with industry, has changed the shape of the realization of agricultural activities. As a result of new production methods, environmental and human health deteriorated and scientists have turned to organic agriculture. Organic farming practices, which started in the 1980s in our country, have improved significantly with the publication of the organic farming regulation in 1994 and the regulation was last regulated in 2018. Our country with conditions favourable for organic agriculture in terms of soil and water resources, climate, variety of products, this study was prepared in order to see how organic agriculture has progressed over the years and at what stage it is today. In 1990, 8 organic products were produced in Turkey with 313 farmers in an area of 1,037 ha. According to the latest data 73,563 farmers have grown 2,371,612 tons of organic products in 626,885 ha organic agriculture area. In addition, the organic product range produced was increased to 213. When we look at the export situation, it is seen that the total export amount is 111,690,675 tons and a significant amount of this export amount is 41.633,896 tons of wheat and wheat products. Looking at the import data, it is known that the total import amount is 175,865,85 tons and the most imported product is soybeans (non-seed) (99,446 tons). Although a significant increase in organic agriculture production has been observed compared to previous years, it is anticipated that this increase may increase even further considering Turkey's agricultural potential.

Although the milk’s predominant microflora consists of lactic acid bacteria, it is probable that pathogenic bacteria such as Listeria, Brucella, Mycobacterium, Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli O157: H7 and Salmonella are also present. Due to the fact that milk contains components with high nutritional value and therefore suitable for the growth of microorganisms, the microorganism populations in the milk can reach to the numbers that can threat human health in a short time. Therefore, it is very important to ensure the microbial safety of the milk before it is consumed. Microfiltration, one of the techniques that can be used for this purpose, physically separates the microorganisms from the milk by passing the milk through the membranes having pores with certain diameters by the effect of pressure. Studies on the microorganism load of milk that microfiltration is used showed that the number of microorganisms in milk generally decreases depending on the working conditions such as pore diameters of the membranes, the initial microorganism load of milk, temperature and pressure. The membranes used in microfiltration technique are chosen according to the purpose. It is known that membranes with a pore diameter of 1,4 µm cause a pasteurization effect and membranes with a pore diameter of 0,2 µm cause a sterilization effect. Therefore, the choice of suitable membrane is very important for microfiltration application. Several studies have been done on the effect of microfiltration on extension of shelf life in drinking milk, the removal of bacterial spores which can withstand high temperatures and can cause milk deterioration of milk, the production of dairy products like cheese without damaging the natural components of milk. These researches are important in terms of providing information on a technique that allows the removal of pathogen microorganisms which cause a risk for public health and can cause food poisoning in case of consumption of raw milk and raw milk cheeses, without any change in the natural structure of milk.

Pulsed UV light application has been a method used frequently in ensuring food safety recently. UV treatment is used in many areas including the food industry through UV treatment and high inactivation power. Pulsed UV light, which is an effective microbial inactivation method that takes place in a shorter time in solid and liquid foods, as it is accepted as an alternative to continuous UV light application, is a promising alternative to both chemical and thermal decontamination methods in the food industry. In this study, pulsed UV light was applied on ready-to-consumption packaged turkey salami samples. In order to ensure food safety and reduce consumer anxiety, the effect of pulsed UV light application of different time and distance on turkey salami slices contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes in equal thickness in order to use UV light was investigated. The effect of pulsed UV application on the microbial inactivation efficiency of the salami surface and the quality of the salami were evaluated. In pulsed UV light system, 3 different distances of quartz glass to samples will be 5-8-13 cm and sliced salami in 3 different periods of 15-30-60 sec. The results of the study showed that pulsed UV light method could be used effectively in inactivation against L. monocytogenes on the salami surface as an alternative to thermal and chemical methods. It was determined that L. monocytogenes inactivation increased as the distance to the quartz lamp decreased and the application time and total energy dose increased. The highest inactivation was obtained after 5 cm 60 sec pulsed UV light treatment.

In this study, the effects of four different color plastic greenhouse treatments on nutrient concentrations of leaf and fruit, leaf SPAD (Soil and Plant Analyzer Development) values and some yield parameters of tomato were tried to be determined. For this purpose, plastic greenhouses with Red (RedG), Blue (BlueG), Colorless (ConG) and white Led (LedG) lighting have been used as materials in the research. The used plastic greenhouses are 3 m in width, 6 m in length, 2 m in sidewall height and 2.8 m in roof ridge height. Led lighting is; Three hours of extra lighting is planned for one hour before sunrise, 2 hours after sunset. The research was carried out in ISUBU (Isparta), Faculty of Agriculture, field area in the summer season in 2019. The nutrient elements of K, Ca, Mg, P, Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe were determined in the leaf and of the tomato plant. It has been determined that four different greenhouse treatments have a positive effect on K, Ca, Cu, Zn, Fe nutrients in leaf, and K, Ca, P, Mg nutrient in fruit. In terms of SPAD values, all treatments were determined to be higher than the control treatment. It was determined that the highest SPAD value was in BlueG treatment. When the efficiency-related values are examined; It was determined that the highest fruit number, fruit weight and yield were in BlueG treatment. BlueG treatment was followed by RedG, ConG, and LedG treatment respectively in terms of efficiency. As a result, considering the effects of four different greenhouse treatments on macro and micronutrient nutritions SPAD values, and yield values, it was concluded that the most suitable treatments for tomato cultivation in greenhouses is BlueG treatment and RedG treatment should not be ignored.

Kohlrabi, which has increased production in our country in recent years, is a vegetable with high water consumption. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of different irrigation levels on plant and tuber growth and determine the appropriate irrigation level. In this study, vegetative growth and some tuber quality parameters of two different kohlrabi cultivars (Korist F1, Kolibri F1) at 4 different irrigation levels (I100 I75, I50, I25) were investigated. The experiment was carried out in unheated greenhouse as a pot experiment in April-June with three replicates and 10 plants per replicate. At the end of the experiment; number of leaves, leaf width (mm), leaf length (mm), tuber diameter (cm), tuber height (cm), tuber weight (g), tuber pH, total soluble solid content of the tuber and chlorophyll index were measured. The growth curves of the tubers were drawn and potassium (K), phosphorus (P) and sodium (Na) contents of the tubers were determined. In Kolibri F1, the highest tuber weight was obtained from the I75 irrigated plants with an average of 369.59 g. In Korist F1, the highest tuber weight was obtained from I100 applied plants with an average of 362.25 g. Especially in terms of tuber development, I100 has provided better results in water deficiency application. However, according to the results of the analysis, there was no statistically significant difference between I100 and I75 irrigation levels. It was determined that I75 irrigation level could be applied for kohlrabi cultivars in April-June cultivation period in Antalya conditions.

Turkey has a great ornithological importance, due to its geographical location, topography, wide territory and different climatic types. From a biodiversity perspective, wetlands are one of the most important areas. Lake Seyfe is one of the important wetlands with economic and ecological value. After being declared a Natural Protected Area in 1989, Lake Seyfe, which gained the status of Natural Protection Area in 1990 and finally declared Ramsar Site in 1994, is extremely important for birds. The lake meets 3 out of 9 Criteria for Identifying Wetlands of International Importance. The research aims to determine bird species of Lake Seyfe by gathering the information contained in the literature covering all observations made in the following years, in addition to the regular field studies conducted weekly between 1996 and 1998. Therefore, a list of birds obtained from all observations made between 1996-2019 has been created. As a result, 26 orders, 57 families, 242 species and 4 subspecies were identified in the site. 20 of the recorded species are globally endangered according to the IUCN red list criteria. Lake Seyfe, an internationally important wetland, is also an important feeding and visiting place for birds during migration.

Canary (Serinus canarius) is one of the most beautiful cage birds. They are small and delicate songbird species. Their origin is the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. They were first brought to Europe by the Spanish sailors in 1478. Than Britain, Germany, France, Netherlands and Italy were started professional canary breeding. The wild ones live in flocks, mostly on the edge of wooded lakes and creeks. While the color of canaries grown in cages is completely yellow, the wild ones are gray-green. Sound in the wild canary is stronger and more impressive. There are 3 types of canaries commonly produced. These are “Song canaries”, “Color canaries” and “Form canaries”. Nowadays they are often produced for their beautiful color and sound. This article gives brief information about canaries and to provide resources to enthusiasts who want to do produce has been prepared.

İşgücü, nüfusun üretimde etkin olan bölümüdür. Nüfustaki gelişmelere bağlı olarak oluşan toplam işgücü arzı ve ekonomik koşullara göre şekillenen işgücü talebi; piyasa oluşumunun iki temel unsurudur. İşgücü piyasaları; arz ve talebinin karşılaştığı, ücretin oluştuğu sosyal bir organizasyon olarak tanımlanabilir. Tüm piyasa yapıları içerisinde işgücü piyasası; işleyişi ve özellikleri nedeniyle ekonominin diğer birimlerinden önemli ölçüde etkilenen ve bunları yüksek oranda etkileyen konumdadır. Bu nedenle üretim sürecinde ve planlamasında işgücü piyasalarının detaylı analiz edilmesi gerekmektedir. İşgücü piyasaları içerisinde; ekonominin temelini oluşturan ve diğer piyasalara çeşitli kaynaklardan katkı sağlayan tarımsal işgücü piyasasının analiz edilmesine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Çünkü tarım sektöründeki doğal kaynakların ve sermaye unsurlarının kullanımında doğrudan işgücünün katkısının olması, diğer sektörlere kıyasla tarımsal faaliyetlerde işgücünün birim alanda daha yoğun kullanılması, tarım sektöründen diğer sektörlere işgücü transferlerinin gerçekleştirilmesi, tarımsal işgücünün gizli işsizlik ve yapısal işsizliğin kaynağını oluşturması gibi nedenlerle tarımsal işgücünün incelenmesi ve sınıflandırılması gerekmektedir. Ayrıca kamu kurum/kuruluşları için veri oluşumunda kullanılacak işgücü çeşitlerini belirlemek, güvenilir istatistiki verilerin elde edilmesine katkıda bulunarak planlanan projelerde ve oluşturulacak politikalarda doğru karar süreçlerine erişimi kolaylaştırmak amacıyla tarım sektöründe işgücünün sınıflandırılması gerekmektedir. Belirlenen amaçlar doğrultusunda tarım sektöründeki işgücü çeşitlerinin belirlenmesi, yapılan kavramsal tanımlamaların bir araya getirilmesi ve literatürde anlamsal bütünlüğün sağlanmasına yönelik olarak bu çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir.

The major antimicrobial proteins in donkey milk are lysozyme, lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase and immunoglobulins. Lysozyme has an important role in the host defense by way it inhibits the pathogenic bacteria. The aim of this study is to investigate the Lysozyme (LYZ) gene polymorphism in 82 donkeys reared in Thrace region of Turkey. 716 bp long partial 5’ UTR, exon 1, intron 1, exon 2 regions of LYZ gene were amplified and PCR products were analyzed via DNA sequencing. Three novel single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified as g.1782775A>G, g.1782924A>G and g.1782960T>C in the first intron of LYZ gene. The partial DNA sequence of LYZ gene in donkeys was reported in the present study and sequences of LYZ were entered to NCBI Genbank database with the accession number: MK984689-MK984692. This SNP may have an effect on immune system and milk traits in donkeys and additional studies are needed to confirm this assumption for donkey breeding.
