The article discusses the extracurricular activities which are an important tool for promoting the development of social competencies. The aim of the study is to theoretically develop and experimentally verify the program-methodological assistance of pedagogical support for the development of social responsibility of university students in extracurricular activities. This program-methodological assistance of pedagogical support includes a content-technological model of pedagogical support for the development of social responsibility, program content of extracurricular activities, individual routes for the development of social responsibility, as well as a comprehensive diagnosis of social responsibility. Employing a combination of theoretical analysis, empirical research, and mathematical-statistical methods, the study reveals that structured extracurricular engagement significantly contributes to the development of social competencies among students. The findings indicate the importance of integrating pedagogical support into extracurricular activities to cultivate socially responsible individuals in higher education. The novelty of this research lies in its comprehensive approach to enhancing social responsibility among university students through a structured program-methodological framework for pedagogical support within extracurricular activities. While previous studies have acknowledged the importance of social responsibility in higher education, this research uniquely integrates theoretical development and empirical verification into a cohesive model.
