The article deals with the feasibility of establishing a national information system on genetic diversity of animals that would be harmonized with the global world of information systems and aimed for a more efficient management of animal genetic resources used for food and agriculture in accordance with the UN Convention on Biological Diversity . The structure of the national information system will include at least 17 separate information blocks in the presence of fields, covering different values of the breed. At the initial stage of an information system for the beef cattle industry relevant scheme and automated system in the amount of information contained in the forms of breeding records. Developed the database management systems of dairy cattle that allow the exchange of data on breeding animals with other systems.
