Monitoring of pollution of snow cover and atmospheric precipitation allows to obtain at the same time information on pollution of atmospheric air, and on possible consequences of this pollution for the adjacent environment – soils, vegetation, surface water which does it to the most indicative. In this work synthesis of data on the content of sulfates in rainfall and snow in the territory of the Taimyr peninsula according to monitoring of Roshydromet is carried out. It is determined that due to the peculiarities of the territory in the winter period, there is a significant influx of sulphates due to long-range transport, both from natural sources (marine aerosol) and anthropogenic ones. In separate years increase in content of sulfates in snow cover much is observed, and a high content of sulfates can lead to acidification of precipitation.
