Show more [+] Less [-]The Agri-Business Information System (ABIS) is being developed by the Jamaican Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) to provide timely and accurate information for small farmers, to improve the production and marketing of commodities and food products, and their competitiveness in local and export markets. RADA has set up a data collection system at the parish level, using palm-top computers, and is compiling a web-based information database. The project is expected to benefit medium and large producers, agribusiness processors, wholesalers, importers and exporters, agriculture associations, researchers, and policymakers.
