The results of studies of soils in the surroundings of industrial site of Baikalsk Pulp and Paper Plant (BPPP) are presented. Their chemical characteristics are determined. It is found out that the composition of soil solution is more sensible diagnostic indicator of soils technogenic transformation and contains much information for assessment of the impact degree of technogenic, emergency spills onto the soil cover.
