VARIABILITY OF MORPHOMETRIC PARAMETERS OF BARLEY COLLECTION SAMPLES FLAG LEAF IN CORRELATION TO CROP PRODUCTIVITY
2017
Tetyannikov, N.V. | Bome, N.A.
the results of assessment for the 148 collective samples of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) based on morphometric parameters of its flag leaf are contained in the article. This research includes the samples of the various ecological and geographical origin from 19 countries all over the world. The collection is represented with two subspecies: H. distichon (distichous barley) and H. vulgare (polystichous barley). It is found out that the linear sizes and area of the flag leaf on its main sprout at the heading stage have been changed by years of the research. This fact points at dependence of the characteristics on climate factors of the vegetative season. Under the conditions of 2016 the bigger flag leafs were formed and the level of the crop productivity was higher in comparison with 2015. H.vulgare samples had wider leaf plate during two vegetative seasons as compared to H.distichon samples. The samples having well-developed flag leafs may be recommended for the practical selection as source material.
