We studied the breeding ecology of the Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) on Obytichna spit (Prymorskyi district, Zaporizhia region) in 2015. We analyzed the dynamics of the number of cormorants, characteristics of breeding habitats, and breeding phenology since 1983. The structure of nesting colony, the size of clutches and the daily activity of the cormorants were also studied. We revealed dependence between the dates of arrival of the cormorants at nesting sites and the average temperature of the month preceding the period of breeding, between nest height and clutch size. We also described the breeding densities, height of trees and patern of nest location, and the size of clutches. Keywords: Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), Obytichna spit, colony structure, breeding ecology.
