New Paramedetera Grootaert & Meuffels, 1997 from South Asia (Diptera, Dolichopodidae, Medeterinae)

The riparian genus Paramedetera Grootaert & Meuffels, 1997, appears to be common and widely distributed in South Asia. Five new species are described: Paramedetera borneensis, Paramedetera bruneiensis both from Borneo, Paramedetera horrorifera, Paramedetera ankarum and Paramedetera turschi from Thailand. Additional records are given of Paramedetera papuensis from Papua New Guinea.
