Show more [+] Less [-]The Acoustic Data Capsule (ACODAC) system is designed to acquire long time series recordings of acoustic signals at a number of depths simultaneously throughout the water column in the deep ocean. Data acquisition is completely automatic, requiring the intervention of neither, men nor ships. Measurement depths are selectable. Sample intervals and system turn-on time are selectable. The system is deployable from a number of platforms and is therefore not tied to a particular ship. It is normally an anchor last deployment system. The ACODAC systems record data from six hydrophones distributed throughout the water column. The bandwidth of the system extends from 5 Hz to 400 Hz, and the maximum total recording time is 10 2/3 days. The recording duty cycle range is 1'1 to 30:1 in selectable integral ratios; the recording time per cycle is selectable from 1 to 128 minutes.
