The objectives of this study is (1) to produce a state of the art numerical model of a large reach of the Missouri River, capable of simulating high resolution spatially/temporally distributed results of water depth and velocity, (2) to investigate model behavior through a sensitivity analysis, (3) to compare model predictions to multiple types of measured data, internal to the model domain, in order to assess model performance and the utility of the validation data, and (4) to investigate the impact of varying levels of bathymetric data and mesh resolutions on the model predictions.
