The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Ship Production Committee Panel 4 (Design/Production Integration) is launching a major project to examine the best computer technology to assist yards to enter this new marketplace. This paper reports on the progress to date and especially the initiating national conference held in May 1992.
