This summary report has been prepared to promote the use of an 88-page Design Guide which will assist in the design of groundwater postheating schemes for British Gas pressure reduction stations. Postheating gas to compensate for excessive Joule-Thomson cooling associated with pressure reduction, is now an accepted way of reducing heating costs in British Gas transmission and distribution operations.
