It identifies and reviews methods and tools that can be used to characterize sediment transport, and provides a framework that can be used to more clearly identify the types of measurements and data analysis methods that can be used at a contaminated sediment site. It also provides guidance on how the results of a well-designed sediment transport evaluation can be used to develop management decisions for contaminated sediment sites.
