A THEORY OF TIDAL MIXING IN AN ESSENTIALLY VERTICALLY HOMOGENEOUS ESTUARY
1953
MAXIMON, L.C. | MORGAN, G.W.
An equation is derived governing the distribution of a solute in an estuary in which river flow and tides are the predominant factors and in which dynamic and mixing conditions can be described by a simple physical model. Various generalizations of the model are discussed, and an equation is derived which allows for time dependence of the quantities involved and the for introduction of solute into the estuary by an external agent.
