Show more [+] Less [-]Curves have been prepared to serve as a guide indesigning externally pressurized cylindrical andspherical housings and flat end closures. Theplots show wall thickness-to-diameter ratio as afunction of collapse depth over the range 0-10,000meters (0-32,800 feet). Curves are plotted for thecommonly used stainless steels and aluminum andtitanium alloys. Also, there are three dimensionlesscurves that can be used for any structuralmaterial. Included is a brief review of theequations used in plotting the curves.
