Show more [+] Less [-]This cruise report provides a record of academic and research activities conducted on C-136.Oceanographic research on the cruise was almost entirely devoted to accomplishing individualstudent projects as part of an academic program. The sea-going program is an extension of coursesconducted for six weeks on-shore in Woods Hole and emphasizes the application of theoreticalconcepts to the study of the oceans.The cruise track of C-136 was designed to studyand contrast oceanic environments and ecosystems. The oceanography of the Caribbean Sea waswell covered by two north-south and one east-west transect of the region. This coverage allowedexamination of the complexities of water flow into the Caribbean and its associated biology.
