The goal is to develop a state-of-the-art, high-fidelity, 3-D, finite-element (FE), broadband computer simulation capability for modeling the scattering of sonar signals by undersea objects located in or near the seabed in littoral environments with smooth or rippled water/sediment interfaces (Fig. 1).
