LOS MARCADORES MOLECULARES Y SU IMPACTO EN LA ACTIVIDAD DE INVESTIGACIÓN Y DESARROLLO AGROPECUARIO: UN ANÁLISIS BIBLIOMÉTRICO

Con el objetivo de verificar el impacto del dominio Marcadores Moleculares en la actividad de Investigación y Desarrollo agropecuario (I+D) a nivel internacional y nacional, se realizó un estudio en cuatro importantes bases de datos internacionales, tres de ellas especializadas en ciencias agrícolas y afines (AGRIS; CAB ABSTRACTS, AGRICOLA) y otra de cobertura académica (Academic Search Elite) durante el período 1970-2004 (primer semestre). Al inicio del trabajo se describen los procedimientos metodológicos empleados en la recopilación y análisis de la muestra; después los resultados y las discusiones sobre los estudios realizados en la temática. Para proporcionar una visión más clara, se optó por presentar el estudio en dos partes: una centrada en la producción científica extranjera y la otra en la producción nacional. A partir de los análisis bibliométricos realizados y los resultados obtenidos se infiere varios de los impactos de las tecnologías de los marcadores moleculares en la actividad científica agropecuaria.

In order to verify the impact of molecular markers in agricultural I+D activity in Cuba and worldwide, a bibliometric analysis about that technology was carried out during the period 1970-2004 (first semester). A retrospective research was carried out in four important international databases, three of them specialized (AGRIS, CAB ABSTRACT, AGRICOLA), and the other of academic cover (Academic Search Elite). Methodological procedures used in sample compilation and analysis, as well as the results and discussions about the studies concerning the topic, were described. In order to provide a more clear vision, the study was presented in two parts: one centralized in the foreign scientific production and the other in the national scientific production. From the informetric analyses and the results obtained in the sample, the evolution and impacts of molecular marker are inferred in the agricultural scientific activity.
