1985
Ben-Dzam, M. | Mohammed, A.I. (Forest Products Research Inst., Kumasi (Ghana))
The effects of different species combination of tropical hardwood in the manufacture of glue laminated products are reported. Strips of the hardwoods were air-seasoned to an average of 12.4% moisture content, assembled using PVA adhesive, bonding pressure applied and tested for shear strength. The results were used to determine the quality of bonding between the different species and the best combination of species for good quality lamination Shear strength, wood failure per cent of glued joints and good quality bonding were found to be influenced by species combination
