The effect of gamma radiation dose on the life-cycle of the cocoa (Theobroma cacao) moth (Ephestia cautella (Walker), Lepidoptera: Phycitidae)
1975
Ofei, A.K.
The influence of gamma radiation doses of 30 and 40 krads on the life cycle of the progeny of cocoa moth, Ephestia cautella using the pupae is reported. Hatchability of the progeny in F1 and F1 topcross generations were markedly reduced in both doses and the offsprings of irradiated parents inherited certain levels of induced sterility which was higher for parents irradiated with 40 krads. No adverse effects on fecundity, developmental period, survival and adult emergence of progeny from treated parents were observed
