Gamma ray induced mutations in soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill)
1980
Bhadra, S.K. | Miah, A.J.
Seed irradiation of the soybean variety, Adelplia yielded four types of chlorophyll mutants: albina, xantha, viridis and tigrina; four types of non-beneficial viable mutants: normal looking sterile, late flowering taller sterile, crinkled leaf and viable albina and types of beneficial mutants: high yielding and golden grain colour types in the M2 generation. The mutation frequency was found to be directly correlated with the M1 seedling injury. The more injured M1 seedlings yielded mutants with a higher frequency than the less injured ones.
