1979
Phromphan Sanitwong | Manat Nuancharoen
A soil survey of the southern central plain area of Nakhon Nayok province was conducted by W. van der Kevie and Banchong Yenmanas from April 1968 to May 1971. The surveys area was divided into four parts namely: 1) the hills, located on the north and northeast which are part of the San Kum Pang mountain range. The soil in this area is not suitable for cultivation; 2) foot slope of the hills wherein the soil is fitted for tree crops such as mango, orange, rambutan and jackfruit; 3) low terrace, the soil is good for transplanted rice because flooding can be controlled by an irrigation system and 4) flood plains, wherein the acid sulphate soil is best planted with broadcast rice.
