To control early infestation of GLH and to minimize RTV infection, field sanitation and seedbed protection is a must. Apply glyphosate at 1.0 ai/ha around the site two weeks before making seedbed. Apply isoprocarb, 0.75 kg ai/ha around the site one week before making seedbed. After broadcasting the seeds, cover the seedbed with fiberglass mesh or apply diazinon or isazophos three days after sowing the seeds. In the field, monitoring the insect population twice a week is necessary to ensure that chemical control are effective. Cypermethrin is very effective on GLH thereby reduced or minimized RTV infections. Insecticide application starts one day after transplanting up to 60 days with an interval of 14 days
