[Special features of transforming the agrolandscapes of [Ukraine's] Cherkasy oblast]

The article deals with the prerequisites of the sustainable development of the agrarian sphere, in particular of farming. As a critical condition, provided is the elimination of the unfavourable trends in changes of the soil cover, stopping the degradation phenomena (erosion, overcompaction, pollution etc.), deteriorating the ecological state of the agrolandscape and soil productivity. Based on the data of monitoring of the state of the main types of the soil as important part of Cherkasy oblast's natural resources, studies were carried out in the course of the years 1965-2001. Involved was systematic spatio-temporal assessment of the state of the urbolandscape to prevent of the appearance of such a state thereof, which is close to the catastrophic one, to elaborate preventive actions. Results of the investigations are given. It is revealed that to ensure extended recovering of the soil fertility, an annual growth of humus of 520 kg/ha is to be provided by means of applying 11-12 tonnes of organic fertilizers, timely and quality covering of 5-9 tonnes of nonmarket part of the harvest: straw, stems and leaves of maize and sunflower (adding nitrogen) and beet tops and also 20-25 t/ha of green mass of ley crops; applying mineral fertilizers at a rate of 230 kg/ha of arable soil an a ratio 1:0.9 correspondingly is considered are as mandatory
