Results of the survey showed prevalence of widespread poverty in coastal marine fishing households with the majority struggling to gain a minimum level of living. The source of livelihood was based mainly on artisanal fishing and or bangus fry gathering supplemented often by non-fishing activities such as farming or farm labor and significantly, other gainful occupations. Although absolute unemployment was very low under employment especially seasonal underemployment, was widespread.
