Quantity and quality of manure produced by caged chicken before and during egg laying period [Philippines]
1984
Navarro, P.D.
Chemical analysis showed that pullets manure provided more nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus than manure from laying hens. Layer feces, however, had higher level of energy. By calculation, 5 to 15 chickens (layers or pullets) can adequately provide the supplementary protein requirement of one head swine depending on age. With dairy cattle, 100 to 200 chicken are recommended for each head depending on age while the beef cattle of varying ages, 50 to 200 birds can be adequate under practical conditions
