One significant finding in controlling the growth of weeds was by increasing corn density from 44,000 plants/ha to 70,000 plants/ha. This would increase its competitiveness with weeds since more corn plants would require higher input rate. Results showed that increase in corn yield would be as high as 62.5% or an average of 6.5 t/ha from the usual harvest of 4.0 tons/ha. Moreover, corn yield increased by using a combination of practices such as off-barring, handweeding followed by paraquat application (0.4 kg/ha) at 28 DAS
