Assessment of indigenous agro-industrial by-products and food waste materials feed resource [Philippines]

Results of the additional analyses indicated the potential of the following by-products/food wastes for both broiler and ruminant feeding: Philsoy residue, cornik, mango peelings and seeds, jackfruit seeds and rind, melon rejects, papaya rejects, chico peelings, Himbabao flowers and leaves/stems, peanut shell, peanut tops and pili nut coat. Based on the finding of the additional tests and the feeding trials, it is recommended that by-product/food wastes like Philsoy residue, chico peelings, cornik, mango seeds and peelings, melon rejects, jackfruit rinds and seeds, peanut tops and peanut shells, can be incorporated safely in broiler rations up to 10% level and perhaps even more in ruminants
