This invention relates to a silo-type dryer comprising a cylindrical vertical structure formed by spaced apart posts, a roof and a base with spaced insulated outer and inner walls, the inner wall forming an upwardly and slightly sloped concentric floor having a concentric opening; a canvass surrounding said structure and secured to said posts to define therein a material holding and/or drying chamber; a layer of flue ducts disposed in-between the outer and inner walls of said base, the open upper end between said outer and inner walls provided with a slotted floor and the insulated outer floor provided with air inlet ports and the upper flue duct provided with spaced clean-out plugs with dampers, said flue ducts being operatively connected to a furnace; a furnace chimney vertically disposed through the concentric opening of said floor, said chimney communicating to the discharge end of said flue ducts; a vertex wind device secured centrally of said roof, said wind device provided with a smooth frustoconical skirt, and a venturi with a flexible skirt and water drain being disposed underneath said wind device skirt and concentrically of said chimney; a plurality of material vertical holding trays being suspendedly supported within said holding and/or drying chamber, each of said trays provided with adjustable louvers and jute sack rolls above said tray; and unloading chutes disposed of said sloped floor underneath each of said trays and extending outwardly to the sides of said silo structure whereby dried materials could be easily discharged.
