The general objective of the study is to determine the effect of different preparations of golden apple snail meal on the growth performance of broilers. A total of seventy five (75) day-old Peterson chicks were used in this study. The birds were distributed at random into five treatments and replicated three times using the Complete Randomized Design. The different rations with variable percentages of golden apple snail which represented the treatments were: T1-0% golden apple snail meal, T2 - 10% uncooked with shell, T3 - 20% uncooked without shell, T4 - 20% cooked with shell and T5 - 20% cooked without shell. Results of the study revealed no significant differences in the average final weight, weight gain and the average daily gain of broilers. The feed consumption and feed conversion efficiency were significantly affected by the treatments. Broilers treated with 20% golden apple snail meal (cooked without shell) performed the best among the treatments studied. It exceeded the other treatments in feed conversion efficiency and growth performance, and gave the highest net return above feed cost. Based on this findings, it is recommended that golden apple snail meal used for the ration of broilers should be cooked and fed without shell.
